Honestly, Q4 for me is pretty heavy with releases. Q2 of 2015 means it would go from "get on sale" to "day one" probably.

Yeah. 30 PS4 exclusive titles in development with 20 PS4 exclusive in the first year.

What an utterly mendacious fallacy.

That guy should get a round house kick to the face for that BS!

Yeah statements like that are what excited me about getting a PS4, so it's really disappointing to me.

In the first place, getting excited over big numbers is the height of stupidity. No one knows what those numbers mean.

I'd rather 10 ridiculously amazing games than 15 so-so games.

B.S, huh?

fl0w, Flower, Sound Shapes, Escape Plan, Knack, Killzone, Resogun, Doki-Doki Universe, Dead Nation, inFamous SS, MLB 14, Helldivers, Hohokum, Driveclub, TLoU Remastered, Singstar.

16 games.

Uncharted, Order, Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, Rime, Shadow of the Beast.

5 games.

Its such a pity that Stig Asmussen had to drop the ball on that PS4 sci-fi title he was developing.

Sony probably would've had that for this fall (it was development for like 4+ years when cancelled), if it had come to fruition.

Its even worse than last fall. Embarrassing isn't a word for this. IT was bad enough when it was just DC and The Order.
Woah games get delay who knew right?

Unfortunate for Sony. Wonder what their contingency plan is. We'll see in a couple of weeks.

Has Sony ever revealed a major retail release and released it in the same year?

I don't know, but this year might be a good time to start doing so if they haven't.

Yeah, that seemed to have really messed with Sony's plans for AAA titles. I do wonder how good it will be for the Order coming out in 2015. I'm expecting U4 to come out in summer 2015, which will be just a few months away from another 3rd person action adventure game...

Ah, yeah, I guess there are close to 20. It's disappointing that over a quarter of them are late ports, though. I guess I wasn't thinking that games like Flower, fl0w, Sound Shapes, Escape Plan, and Dead Nation, and TLoU - games that already existed previously - would be part of those 20.

List of Sony's tentpole fall games for the PS3:

2006 - Resistance: Fall of Man
2007 - Uncharted
2008 - LittleBigPlanet
2009 - Uncharted 2
2010 - Gran Turismo 5
2011 - Uncharted 3
2012 - PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale
2013 - Gran Turismo 6

I'd assume they're going to at least have something beside DriveClub...

Very very doubtful. Games are cancelled because they are in development hell, not because things are going smoothly.

Sunset? D4? The much rumoured H2A and Horizon 2?

There's also Quantum Break, but that'll probably be delayed until 2915 too...

Sunset, D4 and an HD halo is nothing serious for sony. all those combined will move less systems than the most hyped game in recent memory, titan fall. Third parties will be the one moving systems. Which one has the better verisons? Ps4. Which console will they mostly be advertised for? Ps4. Which conlsoe will have the most midshare? Ps4. Ps4 Which console will dominate on a global scale this holiday? Ps4.

Considering the fact that we haven't even gotten 10 decent games for PS4 yet, I'd say that point is rather moot.

OH and that list you posted above is seriously unimpressive dude. Like Half the titles on that list are just remakes of PS3 games. Those shouldn't even count. I believe we were promised PS4 games, not upgraded PS3 ones. I could handle a few upgrades, but Sony has taken it to absurd levels.

As for the other 5 games, I severely doubt any of those are coming this year either.

Sony's year 1 game promises were nothing, but hot air.

Very very doubtful. Games are cancelled because they are in development hell, not because things are going smoothly.

I meant if the game was competently lead and developed and not in a quagmire.

It was obviously in development hell, hence the cancellation.

Gran Turismo 6, Little Big Planet Karting, Ratchet & Clank : Into the Nexus, Playstation All Star Battle Royale, Singstar : Ultimate Party.

Other than Gran Turismo 6, none of those are major titles. And GT6 bombed. I'm not sure releasing a game in the same year it is announced is a good strategy for Sony.

Haven't those 20 new games supposed to be new IPs, or am I mixing things up?

Not a problem - 2014 is crowded enough for me. I won't have time as it is to play Destiny, Dragon Age, Hyper Light Drifter, and Drive Club.

So glad I didn't buy a PS4 at launch. Why bother when the quality software is 18 months away and the console's price will be lower.

Even the Wii U had more quality first party titles in it's first year, hard to understand what Sony has been doing all this time.

All in all im not that gutted, Let's hope they counter it with some good news as they'll know there lineup is pretty crap for the rest of the year.

Bro I said it before, I REALLY would not go into E3 expecting some "Hail Mary" announcement that is going to save PS4's fall lineup.

Sony's chances of ameliorating this situation right now, are slim to none.

What a bunch of idiots they have working over there right now.

You know, it boggles my mind! When this system was first announced and shown, people were venerating and revering Mark Cerny and Shu Yoshida like friggin gaming deities.

Now, over 1 year later Cerny's game was a flop and PS4's software release schedule is a friggin shambles. I think it is fair to say that my faith has been broken.

Considering the fact that we haven't even gotten 10 decent games for PS4 yet, I'd say that point is rather moot.

I wasn't making any specific references. I'm saying the '30 exclusives' mentioned by Shuhei is 'cool story, bro' statement that holds no weight until you actually announce what those games are.

It could very well be 29 trash games, and only 1 good game.

OH and that list you posted above is seriously unimpressive dude.Sony's year 1 game promises were nothing, but hot air..

That was exactly my point. 'Numbers' have no meaning. My list was full of ports, but ports are easily '1 game on the list' just as much as 'inFamous' is '1 game on the list.

Sony didn't promise 20 AAA games. Sony promised '20', and they're pretty damn close to it. Since 'the cited number' made you excited, one would guess that being closer to that number matters more to you than having good games. /s

Other than Gran Turismo 6, none of those are major titles. And GT6 bombed. I'm not sure releasing a game in the same year it is announced is a good strategy for Sony.

They were retail titles. And PS All Star Battle Royale released in Fall. That was Sony's 2012 key title, disregarding its actual performance.

If it's a full-priced retail title, it's a major game in my view. The actual quality of the game isn't a barometer.

why are people shocked by this? From everything we have been hearing form people who have seen the game, there was no way this was coming this year. Colin on podcast beyond called this about 3 months ago, not to mention the twitch stream, what the hell was all that about.

I welcome the delay as it will make it a better game we just need to be patient

It's over, Microsoft has won.

i cant wait for the news: "Due to the surprising delay of The Order:1866, people around the world rediscover a console thought forgotten. All over Europe people stoped buying PS4s and started buying the other console, which piles to this date prevented a comfortable straight approach of the PS4-booth in the electronic stores" /half s
