The Order: 1886 leaks - new gifs, screenshots!

When he shoots out the leg, the animation of the enemy makes his leg fall out and him stumble backwards. Perhaps evidence of quite a substantial enemy animation system for deaths

I've been crying out for realistic hit detection for a long time.

MGS2 and RE4 are the only games I remember where enemies react to bullet placement.

Looks very beautiful.

The janky looking gunplay seems like it's more a case of a bad player. Reminds me of watching someone who's unfamiliar or uncomfortable using two sticks to play; the player just flicks the stick a bit, leaves it, then flicks it a bit more until he gets to where he wants instead of maintaining a constant hold on the stick.

So QTE's and diving behind sandbags and playing a shooting gallery.

Pretty much everything gaf loves about games!

Does look pretty though.

Looks amazing.
And also boring.

My thought's exactly; at least that alley looks boring. I hope that the game has more visual settings than blue fog in brown environments. The skyline looks promising, though, as do the character models.

If they're going for that film aesthetic, that HUD has got to go. Lovely looking filters on the image.

I hope the QTEs aren't too prevalent and only in scripted places such as that. Nothing I hate more than QTEs from normal melee fights(f u UC: GA).

What about Soldier of Fortune? I think they reacted, I know the damage was different to different areas, but it's been years since I played it.

Yeah there's no way we can tell if this is as comparably impressive for the new gen as Uncharted 2 was for last gen until we see the 1080p content.

Plus, since destruction plays such a big role to the gameplay, there might be actual next-gen gameplay in play, and that's impossible to judge from this footage.

It should probably go without saying, but visually this looks fantastic. Among the best executions I've seen for the new-gen. Members of this team have gotten the most out of even severely limited hardware in the past, and they've been given the best closed platform to work with and optimize for. My wallet will be ready.

That said, I hope the play mechanics are outstanding, or that there's a neat storyline to push its appeal. I feel like there's a degree of fatigue in the third-person shooter genre. Not to me, mind you.

there is just something about that main character that fits perfectly....his design is flawless. is it the stache? with the hair? i dont know, but its flawless

To be honest, all the screens look like they were either taken from the gameplay trailer or the cinematic trailer, so those environments should be visible in the game. I am not really worrying about it being based in all dull corridors after that.

I expected to be impressed. I was. The look of this game is so fucking sick! Atmospheric? Organic? Some other buzzword? I don't know, but I like it!

Looks really good, and then...

Ewww at those bricks on the left side of the wall.

I don't know how I feel about the gameplay, though I don't really have anything against it being a 3rd person shooter. I still want to see some destruction and whatnot.

The atmosphere looks amazing. It has this look to it, that doesn't remind me of any other game. I don't know what it is, the lighting, time of day, the color palette. Something about this game looks different, in a very good way.
