Therefore even if the ps4 only has tlou:remake and driveclub I think it will still sell well based on the momentum. The only way the momentum will be shunned is if Microsoft hammers advertising telling people about its superior exclusive line up and price parity.

I really hope MS do hammer the advertising, it will be interesting to see just how much meat/sales they can find when they make a huge point of only having Forza and SO.

I don't think the Masterchief Collection is going to do great either, too many different versions of multiplayer, franchise fatigue, old games though! and the fact that Halo fans can't even decide which game was the best, so they'll have to fork out money for Halo 2 single-player, even if they don't want it. And nobody wants to see H2 single-player again.

I am under the impression that people keep mentioning those Sony first party software and the necessity to have more of them so that they could come out victorious of the next fanboyish battle of the exclusives. Why do I care what title come from where! The truth is, this year is going to have a lot of games : The Evil Within, Destiny, The Witness, Driveclub...Enough to sustain any avid reasonable player. But NO! I wanna exclusives! Well, making games takes time, and the more time they invest in them, the better...

Not to mention the fact that gen 7 console sales have shrivelled up, so look to multigen titles like CoD, Dragon Age: Inquisition, FIFA, Destiny, Madden, NHL, etc to do well on the new consoles and get people excited. Throw in the gen 8+PC exclusive stuff like Batman: Arkham Knight and Assassin's Creed: Unity, and I really don't see how this fall is a weak one.

Storywise I want there to be something wrong with the blackwater, some horrific side effect that they all need to overcome, also would explain why the downed guy wasn't offered it. Perhaps after a while it corrupts you and we see that with the Old guy (Percival I think it was) and in the end he starts changing and becomes a traitor.

Maybe it's the population's addiction to fizzy black water that's creating the mutants?

I think they blackwater stuff is just what you said, a means of explaining health regen through the story, if they had powers they wouldn't focus so much on the guns.

Plus, they appear to be allowing some costume changes which could provide 'powers' such as stealth, protection and fashion points.

Third party games do not exist...They sell better and are critically well received but they are not worthy.

In the blackwater trailer and in interviews the developers confirmed that these characters have lived for centuries except for the guy with the french accent. Also only the "Knights of the Round Table" have access to it. And the recent gameplay video confirmed regenerating health, although it might be like MGSGZ where minor wounds heal normally and major wounds require a health item ala black water.

Well then I'm pretty interested to see what people think of the game (whether it's good or bad) who have gotten a chance to play it rather than people judging it from these ~3 minute gameplay segments they've been showing.

i actually am personally pretty excited about the order. BUT as this is coming from someone who has been very excited about it.

- the flow of info from sony has been pretty abysmal

- the "insider leaks" on this have been pretty over blown. From the next UC2 to everyone is gushing etc etc. If anything its been overhyped by insiders. To me this is the equivalent of almost what titanfall got from the gaming press. the insiders are hyping order too much (or they used to and now its damage control mode almost)

- RAD i feel has got the short end of the stick on this they cant come out and say a lot as they are working with sony pr and at the same time they have to try and explain what they are doing etc.

- would like this to be a 2014 game or early 2015 . haven't played a rad game but from ppl posting who have they have good pedigree (both gameplay and general game direction and story too. so im still excited . but im not thinking this is the second coming of jesus and i think one of the best part is andrea posting on the italian forum saying no our game is not some revolution but we are mixing gameplay elements up and we think its going to be fun. Thats good enough in my mind and especially refreshing coming from a dev).

I think people overestimate the impact of anything so far on the long term viability of the product.

The kind of people who've been watching all this Order content so far are the kind of people who will keep following the project and watching the videos released.

I think Sony has done a sloppy job showing the game of course, but I also don't think it matters at all. If the game is good, they'll show it in a complementary light before 'the core' have written it off.

Are the black bars really worth 4xMSAA though? A crisp image is great but those bars are way more distracting than jaggies that you may or may not notice in the heat of action.

On my TV, the black bars will completely disappear into the bezel of the set, so they won't bother me in the slightest.

1) Shinobi, former GAF member, sometimes has inside info. He's saying on twitter it's not coming this year.

2) Think about how little they have shown. Consider the tone of their dev diary videos. They made it fairly clear that the game was still early in development. There was a lot of wishful thinking involved in believing it was a 2014 release. I am not surprised at all that it's (allegedly) not going to come out this year.

Because someone on very good notice told us? I know people are a bit iffy with insiders, with good reason, as you should always be somewhat pessimistic with these things, but I'm fairly confident this one's legit. Shinobi's source is...well..a good one lol. Shinobi has been on a role lately anyway, so you have even less reason to doubt him.

Either way, we should have an inkling tomorrow hopefully.
