Really don't like trailers who put a song in the background playing trying to make the game look all dramatic and stuff. Why can't we get a normal gameplay trailer with in game soundtrack?
The Order looks insanely good, and the gunplay looks solid.
Im worried about length and replay value.
Will this be a 6-8 hour game and once finished you dump it into a corner to never look at it again.....then no buy.
What kind of length would you find appropriate?
for me, if it had Uncharted length even without the multiplayer, I'm okay with it, I had no problem with Uncharted 1 and that one don't have multiplayer as well.
as long as it's not 5-6 hour game
Sure there is, but I just want to play the game, I'm not going to throw the game in the bushes because you want non stop monstersYou mean to tell me there's no way to write a story base around fighting monsters?
Because I can certainly point out a few games with bad/boring stories base around fighting humans.
Sure there is, but I just want to play the game, I'm not going to throw the game in the bushes because you want non stop monsters
The first Uncharted I fought humans for 90% of the time, the monsters was a nice touch
What kind of length would you find appropriate?
I doubt it is. RaD hasn't even shown a single set piece moment from this game because they're avoiding spoilers. We've seen her with scars in the artwork and the area looks reminiscent of the first encounter with the Lycans that they've shown, which is before the airship we saw at PSX.Great trailer, loved both song and editing, but that last clip? Please let this not be a spoiler... -_-
Now is THAT spoiler? That lady is going to die?Another TLOU Ellie shot Joe bait and switch?
No matter what the final quality turns out to be, it looks like a game you need to play just for the graphics alone.
i think i've played too many 'just play it for the graphics even though the game sucks' games to get excited about that possibility again
What games with amazing graphics have sucked? Just curios. Aside from say Crysis 3 (haven't played but I heard it was a disappointment)
Killzone 2 and Shadow Fall, Crysis, Far Cry, AC Unity. That's just the ones I've played, off the top of my head.
In that list you literally named 2 of the best first person shooter games ever made.
Crysis and Killzone 2 are untouchable achievements in the FPS genre. Mechanics, AI, immersion, etc. All at the very top of their game.
Killzone 2 and Shadow Fall, Crysis, Far Cry, AC Unity. That's just the ones I've played, off the top of my head. Gears of War and Gears of War 2 were also very pretty, but I thought they were incredibly tedious and boring.
I'm just past a point now where 'great graphics' is enough to keep me interested if the game is boring or just plain bad.
Killzone 2 is regarded as one of the best shooters of last gen.
Far Cry 4 is loved beyond just its visuals.
AC Unity doesn't have good visuals. It runs at sub HD and sub 30 fps. That's not good.
If it at least hit a consistent 30, then the game might actually be pretty good.
And yeah, Gears of War and Gears of War 2 are loved because of their gameplay. That's what has made the sequels so attractive. Horde Mode, Online mode, and Co Op campaign are all very well beloved.
I think you're just confusing "games you don't like" with "games with good graphics and bad gameplay"
We can all point to games that we don't care for that are visual lookers.
But some of the games you listed have very sizable fanbases for their gameplay.
Regardless of whether the games I've listed are actually bad, or whether I just didn't like them, that really makes no difference to the fact that they were games that I played, which I didn't enjoy for their gameplay, but which were all hands-down visually stunning. I even went into Shadow Fall, assuming that I wouldn't enjoy the gameplay, but thinking that I wanted to see what my shiny new PS4 was capable of.
And because of my experiences with those games, I'm done with playing games that are visually impressive, but which I don't enjoy actually playing. It's a waste of my time and money.
I agree there. I'm not playing games just for a visual experience. There has to be a hook. It has to be fun. That's why we game. To have fun.
Edit:
And that's why I'm sympathetic to the concerns of the game being too focused on cinematics to the point where it interrupts gameplay or lacks focus on gameplay.
I however think the game will be quite fun and engaging!
Resident Evil type game with more action instead of horror.
Well, I don't want to have yet another fight about The Order and get branded as another 'hater', but previews like Metro's don't fill me with hope.
It's a shame because I would like for this game to be good, because I'm hurting for games to play on my PS4, and I'd like to experience the face-melting graphics without having to drag myself through a chore of a game.
3rd person over the shoulder shooter with SP only. story focused with monsters*What so Resident Evil about it?
