No one shall be brought before our LORD David Bowie without the true and secret knowledge of the Photoshop. For in that time, so shall He appear.
This looks cool and I’m happy for the people who are excited, but if I’m being honest, I’ve never understood the appeal of any of the Elder Scrolls games. I’ve tried to get into them, but I find them just so boring.

Did you play Oblivion when it was first released? It was a revolutionary game at the time. Archery, sorcery and role playing in first person... Lockpicking, bribing, sense of discovery, dungeons with traps... It was something else. If you played it later, it's normal not to be impressed. Those who played Morrowind first like it more than later games, but since I played it later, I couldn't get used to it due to the combat system.

I missed my chance with Fallout and Elder Scrolls, and I got to know the beauty of it in Fallout London.
Maybe this game will do the same to me again. Really looking forward to it.

edit - just stay pretty Bethesda. Let your fans make better games than you.

Wish this could survive the official Oblivion remaster. Seems like a project of a lot of love and passion.
It will. Lots of people are not buying a remaster or have a system capable running it if it is really based of UE. Also this mod expands and improves a lot on the original. Doubt the remaster will put as much effort into it.

Revolutionary how? It refined what Morrowind did.

But the fans are porting Bethesda's work, not making a new game.

Improvements along the way are naturally going to be made when the modders have the benefit of experience (what to fix) and they aren't working to for-profit company deadlines.

The interesting thing will be if the Oblivion remake rumours are true and what Beth will output when compared to Skyblivion.

It would be a shame if at the end of the development of such a mod (into which so much work was put) Bethesda releases its own remake of Oblivion on UE5.

I hope this mod is less buggy than Fallout London was. It was a mess at launch

Yes, you're right. I mentioned it that way because Oblivion was the first Elder Scrolls game I played. You can assume that I was referring to the Elder Scrolls series as a whole when I mentioned it as a revolution. However, the ability to attack without relying on dice rolls makes it more playable than Morrowind even today, which is why I’m more excited about Skywind.

Almost half a million views after 3 days. It's going to massive. I just love these big mod projects. I think they do need a very strong lead to get to a release though. Keeping people onboard for sometimes over a decade and managing all the drop out and replacements would feel too much like a job to me.

Skywind looks so incredibly well polished every time they show it off, even during livestreams when they can't fake stuff. I'm on their discord where they post small updates as well and some of the atmospheric stuff they do with weather and lighting is amazing.
