The Player 1 Podcast Topic

"Kutter," Mike? YOU'RE BETTER THAN THIS. If you're learning a Semitic language, you had better be ready to swallow your tongue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfxSszAk_G0

Anyway, I'm glad reg Ford's doing well. I think I just knew his profession from Andrew Fitch on 4th String or something.

It still amuses me that the internet thinks that there's only one Jeff Green.

...but perhaps I've said too much.

Are you saying that his, "You're not the Lord Of The Rings," dream was some kind of Total Recall/We Can Remember It For You Wholesale situation, that he's recalling his shadowed past?

New ep up. I'm assuming they're not gonna shit on Sound Shapes, lol

You're video games' leading authority on mole-based gameplay.

You forgot Monty on the Run, Impossamole, and Bottles from Banjo-Kazooie.

Is Greg on the new podcast? That's like my “is Vinny on the new bombcast” question. I love me some of the salty Canadian. I'm actually slowly migrating my excitement for Bombcast each week to Player 1. I'm biased since EGM was my gaming bible back in the day.

But really, it's not a Player 1 podcast without an infant crying in the background and an angry Greg. That and Player 1's intro song and exit song are the best of all time.

Madden 13 for Vita being based on last years version is normal for the first port of an EA Sports title. They did the same with FIFA on the Vita, with both FIFA and Madden on Wii U, and with the first next-gen version of FIFA on PC (FIFA 10 for PC was based on FIFA 09 for 360/PS3; before that FIFA on PC was still based on the PS2 engine).

It makes sense to port from a stable base rather than chasing a moving target. The port team has enough bugs to chase on their own without having to figure out if it comes from the port or from the new and incomplete features.

It's not just protables, they do it for consoles as well. The first Madden on 360 was essentially feature-less compared to the XBox version.

Have I mentioned that I love this podcast? Top-notch episode, this.

That Toaplan appreciation better not have been ironic. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toaplan That's as good as mid-tier developers get! Plus, what other company has games as well-named as Knuckle Bash AND Slap Fight? (But, seriously, play V-V/Grind Stormer.)

Any reason for the POP app not being on the Play app store? I'd love to grab it (and show my support) but the Amazon store isn't available in the UK yet.

I listened to part of the podcast on my way to work this morning, and the "A Day in the Life" section had me cracking up laughing. One of the funniest things I've heard on a podcast in a while.

For the Dust complaints, once you've leveled up a little, you can easily take down all the enemies really easily in the earlier levels. I'm playing on Tough and it's a lot of fun and challenging. The enemy placement is a lot more diverse in other areas. RThe beginning is more tutorial-based so it's more segmented. Also, there are a lot of levels that are not combat specific. Some of them are puzzles or timing based involving the bombs and lots of platforming. So yea, play more.

As for the character designs, I don't have any problems with it. It reminds me of old Saturday morning cartoons I watched when I was a kid. Maybe it could've looked more like the sprites which are more painterly, imo. but at least they're all animated and not just stills. You guys didn't mention the VO and music. I think they're great.

Yeah, I haven't given up on it. I played a little bit more already. Still not to the places you're talking about, apparently--but that does sound like it adds some much-needed variety. I'll cross my fingers.

The music is definitely excellent. And the VO is (mostly) good. I want to throttle Fidget most of the time.

haha, i have no issues with Fidget's VO but i heard many other people can't stand her. i understand why tho. cool, looking forward to more of what you think of the later areas.

Yes! I was on the subway and people were looking at me funny, that was great.

Anyway, one thing that bothers me with the Cross Buy is how people say it's "lost revenue" for them, like CJ did in this episode. I disagree. I think the extra revenue they bring in by making a much more attractive product far outweighs the loss from people spending $60+40 for both versions.

For example I was going to skip Sly 4 at launch but being able to pick up and play it either on Vita or PS3 at any time makes it a more interesting product to me so I'll get it at launch. I just hope cloud save works better than it does in Sound Shapes.

Another thing to consider is price. As it stands I'll buy NFS Most Wanted on the Vita for $40, but if they make both versions available for $60 then I'll get that bundle. I'd be giving EA more money and spending more time with their game, which is a win-win for them.

The new podcast will be up the same time as the bombcast? My entire week is ruined! Podcasts all out of order, chaos in the streets, cats chasing dogs

Never should have donated to this kickstarters >:(
