So by your logic, everyone who enjoyed The Lion King (And no, despite my enjoyment of MLP, I am not suggesting that it's anywhere as good as The Lion King) is a Furry, and by extension anything with talking animals?
Don't forget people who liked Ratchet & Clank and Sly Cooper.

another one for the .gif. I've seen this in a few non-pony related threads withouy issue.

And I posted this one during E3 with no issues (well, except the new servers didn't kill OT this year).

Loud and obnoxious and annoying about it, so much so that they usually don't realize they're alone in raising their rancorous cacophony.

or Tiny Toons (though there was some sick fuck who sent furry fanfiction to some of the voice actresses and stalked them wanting to have sex with the character Fifi.)

There was some odd comic produced by gaffer that was a bit in that direction lol.

If you're thinking about the one i'm thinkin about, thats more of an inside joke than reality!

I like the show. I'm not a fanatic about it, but it was enjoyable, and honestly refreshing to see a children's show that isn't condescending or trying to get as many crass references past the kids as possible. Lauren set out to create a show that everyone can enjoy, and she certainly succeeded.

Every kid that played Sonic is a furry.

you might just want to go and off yourself if you honestly think that because i dont think you will enjoy living on this planet.

I don't know anything about this show but I think the reason it's more controversial is because it looks like a show for little girls so people get freaked out when grown men are enjoying it, especially when they are enjoying it so much.

I say The lion king is to furries what the Neuromancer is to cyberpunk fans.

Exactly. The fact that a wide range of people enjoy FIM is one of the least surprising things about the show if you know a little about its genesis or actually take the time to watch an episode.

That's the thing, it was engineered not to be annoying for people apart from the primary demographic. It did that, and then some.

It's puzzling to me why this show is so popular with teens and young adults while a cartoon like Adventure Time, which is as clever as anything on TV right now and works on so many levels, is only moderately popular.
I think accessability may have something to do with it. A lot of MLP fans, myself included, got into it because it was on YouTube. Adventure Time, however, is locked down to only clips. (Plus I had to remove Adventure Time from my DVR 'cause it kept recording repeats as new episodes.)

I hate this too. I'm sure a lot of the same people who say this will go on about how Darkwing Duck or Great Mouse Detective is awesome. Both of those and MLP have its share of furry fans. I think another quirk about MLP is that it's probably the first good series in the internet age with talking animals, and with furry culture abound on the internet (Star Fox and Sonic mostly), people have grown really bitter against anything with talking animal characters.

Ha! I made that!

Jokes for ponygaf by ponygaf.

Posting that without context to prove some abstract point is like posting a clip of Don Rickles and assuming he genuinely hates his audience.

Haven't seen that parody!

The original was creepy and used a character from the show that one has the neogaf pony in it's place and is meant as a parody of the original pic (much like the pandapony and belle pic).

I don't overdo it with .gifs because I do occasionally like to make and post huge .gifs (that generally seem to be well received), and I'd like to keep my "License to .gif" as it were.

If you lose the license then next E3 gifs thread won't be any fun at all

Sexy talking animals probably began near the middle of the the Underground comix movement that began in the late 60s early70s.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underground_comix

Omaha the Cat Dancer romance and Cutey Bunny comedy/adventure accompanied the usual mix of DC and Marvel superhero animal spoofs. That is, if your simile is meant to highlight seminal works for the furry genre. I would say that the 'Lion King' probably played a much smaller part.

That being said, anyone who has ever seen a Mickey Mouse cartoon is now a furry sex-offender and far worse than a simple MLP fan.

This thread is now about Walt Disney being an anti semite.
