Yeah the second movie is an odd choice.

eh i dunno, Insidious was one of the more well received/reviewed horror films in years and horror fans have always been among the strongest collectors until comic book movies took over the world. the real bummer is how bad the poster is

Really sharp design for Drive although Albert Brooks looks closer to Bono in my opinion. I think this would do better if the second movie was one anyone gave a damn about though.

Insidious was well received and did better money wise at the box office. Lot of horror fans (like me) got into collecting these prints because of the horror ones especially.

Yeah, I get that and I know it was well received, but there's no crossover appeal there.. at all. I'm guessing it's a small part of the cost in terms of the license though.

No interest in seeing the new Spiderman film, but free Mondo poster...

This is the poster for the midnight showing:

Here is how you get it: http://www.imax.com/corporate/media-coverage/amazing-spider-man-1201-imax-giveaway/

With that said, even though the imax site says it's a mondo poster, I kind of wonder if they're mistaken or something? Doesn't look like a Mondo poster to me -- at least not something they'd put out.

It's been a pretty good series of posters so far, and it's an amazing show, so I'm all for it. I suppose it's tough on those collectors trying to get a whole set or something, but feh to that.

Not really feeling that Lion King poster. It's kind of messy to me.

On another note, how do these artists get the licensing for these posters? Is that the only thing that separates their works from just fanart that people sell?

Well, Eric Tan (the guy who did the Lion King poster) works for Pixar so for him it's a little bit easier when it comes to approval, I would say. Also, Acme Archives does have the Disney license. This image was revealed in late 2011 and it finally got cleared for print and sale just now.

Interesting. I'd like to get into this business myself. Maybe someday...

Looks like the Spider-Man/IMAX poster bit is indeed a partnership with Mondo.

We recently partnered with IMAX on a poster for midnight showings of JOHN CARTER and now we’ve joined forces again for the upcoming THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN. If you’re planning on going to see the movie at midnight next week, you’ll get this great poster by Laurent Durieux! Laurent continues to amaze us in both his illustrations and composition and this one is no different. We’re very excited to be able to work with him again. Be sure to grab one of these next week!

With regards to mondo drops, there's basically no point even trying to get one if your outside the state's due to the lag on paypal checkout?

Paypal transfer isn't going through 'til tomorrow. Fuck.

Yeah I've had a $110 pending charge on my account for 4 days now for something that isn't getting shipped to me until mid-July and they said I wouldn't get charged until it shipped. Yeah. No Thing for me thanks to the fuckers over at soccer.com!

Wish I could get that Eric Tan Lion King poster. I won't be at comi-con. Guess that's karma coming back since I've gotten into all of the stout lotteries that I tried for. :(

I can't stop buying posters. I have over a dozen now.

I have no where to even hang them up yet.

But no, you can't have it. It's mine dammit. MINE.

Fair enough. And I'm in the same boat, been buying more than I have room for.

And honestly I might have just flipped the 'The Thing' poster, as it's 26x38 and framing it would have been a nightmare...

that being said I'd still like one if anyone's out there!!!
