Marriage is point #21, by the way. There's also anti-abortion and anti-euthanasia drivel in there, but the main point is that two monolithic organizations which managed not to talk each other for four times the time the current US government has existed are actually talking, which is indeed a big sign that they're not so monolithic anymore and are stepping up to change their place in the modern world.
Which will soon include the various human rights points, in all likeness. They're not really enshrined in doctrine, and churches are what believers want them to be.
