Yeesh, I didnt realize how many JRPGs are coming out next year (throw in DQ8 while were at it). That looks like more potential quality for the genre in a couple quarters than the PS2 saw for the majority of its entire lifespan. Whats with the sudden explosion?

It's like with the PSone. People give it alot of credit but the majority of the big ones came out near the end of its lifetime, the same is happening with the PS2 also.

Yep, if you check there was a thread recently where people were bashing the PS2's RPG lineup for not being as good as the PSone's. There were some in that thread that said just wait till the end of the PS2's life span and you'll fall for the RPG lineup. I think that's whats going to happen. There are even those I left off like Gusts new RPG Ar Tonelico (high res 2D RPG) because i'm not sure it'll make it to the US. But I definetly think the PS2 will end up being a better RPG machine than the PSone ever was.

Suiko5 is for PS2, and Suiko6 is for PS3. Yeah while the games are being made, I want them to be good again. Like Suiko2 good. Really doubt it after seeing how 3 and 4 turns out.

It's not that cut and dry.

Chrono's development division has been busy this entire generation, and likely will be for the next as well, with PlayOnline projects -- first with FFXI, then with expansions/updates, and now with their upcoming 2007 MMO. Unless they seriously expand this division (which is possible, as it's their most profitable right now), or shift the series over to another division/team, we can count out seeing any new Chrono games for quite some time.
