I've stopped buying most games especially day 1. Only a few purchases if they are something I know I'll play right away or to show support.
I started with PS5 then added the Series X, regret it save for my back catalog(and spare UHD drive) so I haven't sold it. Later went back to PS5 Pro since I've already been down that road with other gaming companies and systems. In the future I'll probably go PC if I want to keep gaming in a modern sense, and perhaps a Switch 2 if I feel there is enough there to warrant the purchase, but Nintendo's practices have been really bad. Not getting a PS6 since there is no reason.
I used to be nearly 100% digital but have switched back to physical purchases whenever I can, and mainly went back to collecting older movies, anything pre-2k for the most part. Modern gaming is sadly uninspired buggy often slacktivistic trash. The amount of value I get with a film restoration and physical copy is leagues over what the videogame industry can overcharge for. Full color booklets and essays, reversible covers(I know some games have them), better discounts, film restoration that is vastly superior to what most of the gaming industry tries to market as a remaster or remake.
I've had to purchase some shelves to hold the thousands of movies, shows, anime, books and manga I've collected since I went this route. The game companies could've gotten the money but I grew sick of being treated like an abused tax-payer. Like our money is just expected with little-to-no to offer in return save for insults and demanding us to be fooled into buying the next heavily marketed thing.
If anything collecting all these shows and films has brought me closer together with my girl and our families. I wish we could have children(I can but she cannot) so I'm happy for those that can and have. I would've ditched modern gaming altogether if I had kids.
