I'm with you. Mark's been my #1 ever since the whole journal burning episode. Just seemed like an excuse to give him a sympathetic slant.
He initially comes off as genuine, but I think his sabotage is more subtle.

Also, his over-performance on a few occasions could be an attempt to garner goodwill and throw suspicion off himself for a while. The coordinate scavenger hunt is a good example. Not only did he effortlessly run the treadmill for nearly an hour (I admit, old dude's a MACHINE), but he also managed to solve many of the chalkboard puzzles Nicole and Paul were having trouble with at the time.

Genuine ass-kickery, or devious mole tactics? I'm just preparing for my absolute shock when I find out he's NOT the mole...
I just can't think of times when he has kept money out of the pot. In one of (or the first) missions, when they had to race against Mark and Kristen to the top of the hill by beating a soccer team and Mark and Kristen were on bikes, Mark completely denied the use of a car to get to the top of the hill. Using the car would have taken money out of the pot.
Plus he helped a lot in the bomb mission.

He started the mutiny on the llama costume race, and refused to take part in the sauna / fancy restaurant task. I agree though that he does seem to be genuinely trying to win.

I think it was something to that extent. I barely remember anything about the first season (that was by far the most memorable challenge though).
Wasn't there a truck outside their window or something?
Yep, right outside her window. Had to use some binoculars to get the number which opened her room door. The whole challenge was funny after the fact since she was the mole, but was the only one really doing anything. The other two guys kept tying up the phone line chatting back and forth.

I recently rented Season 1 and Celeb mole from Netflix. The special features on Celeb mole were some deleted scenes of the players discussing things about the game. My favorite was watching Corbin Benson - he went NUTS noticng everything and making a clue out of it as to who the mole could be. Talking about salt and pepper shakers and candle size. He was the funniest part of the show sometimes.

Any one currently watching it?

Mark
was the winner!

And

Craig
was the mole!

I'm still curious to see if my observation was correct.

Terrible and predictable. But at least the right person won.

I have never gotten a single hidden clue on a mole series. I guess I just don't know what to look for. It is kinda funny that the final 2 got through the game based on speed during quizzes. Sucks what happened to
Victoria

I wish this show got good ratings so it could stay on long enough for me to apply.

Yep, if another season ever happens, they really need to change up the Mole's playing style. Every single time, it's been someone who performs subtle mess-ups, and not a prominently featured person (at least from what I remember). I agree that the right person won but I would have loved to see
Nicole
as the mole since
her over-the-top performance would've thrown off both the players who thought "no way" and veteran fans who knew what to look for.
Not to mention this season's mole had
an obvious setback that would stop from performing well constantly (his weight)
.

Still, give it one more shot ABC.

I don't know how else a mole could play besides subtle mess ups unless he or she was so over the top that nobody would believe he or she was the mole.

I kind of wish the quizzes were harder, but oh well.

It doesn't matter what you do as the mole. Act all subtle, are you the mole, or did you genuinely screw something up? Act all crazy and obvious; are you the mole, or are you trying to make me THINK you're the mole?

There is no way to be sure honestly, there is just guessing and grasping at clues you think you have witnessed. You don't find out the mole by watching people during the games, it's during the off hours and personal interactions that you catch that subtle slip or what have you.

fucking win. This is the first time I got it right from Day 1 and I watched every season

Yep me too :)

What gave it away for me was after the first elimination, Craig said "I think the wrong person went home tonight." that gave it away for me.

Shocked it came down to 4 seconds between Paul and Nicole. And wtf at Victoria???
I'm still happy about the winner, even though they lucked into it.
