i honestly don't think anyone can stop the cards bats. not houston, the yanks, or sox. they're just too good, top to bottom.

Yup yup...though you can't really blame Kent, the fucker's playing with 1 good ankle...he made that awesome play in game 5 of the NLDS..

#2- Oswalt got up TWICE in the BP, obviously there was some chance to bring him in... If Lidge goes 2+ then you could bring in Oswalt if you had to

Yeah, we did a horrible job batting with RISP. At one point I think we had guys on 1st and 2nd...no outs. Ground out moved the runners over...then 2 straight pop ups. We're all trying for the home run ball right now. We need to get some bunts down and crap. We DEFINATELY have to play small ball if we can't get anything going saturday. Clemens will more than likely keep the Cards at bay...it's up to the bats to get some runs across on Jeff Suppan.
Priorities for the offseason:
* GET A BULLPEN. Keep: Lidge, Qualls, Harville/Gallo[they're young and have talent...just need to learn how to pitch and also mature], Wheeler, Munro. The two old guys [Springer/Miceli] need to go. Either trade or pick up somebody from FA...Wagner's a FA this season
lol but seriously, we need some GOOD, RELIABLE arms to go to. Look at the Cards bullpen...Send Duckworth/Redding/Hernandez back to the minors for ALOT of work.
* SIGN BELTRAN. MCLANE, LISTEN TO ME. YOU BETTER FUCKING SIGN BELTRAN. YOU SEE WHAT HE BRINGS TO THIS TEAM?!?
* GET ROGER BACK. you know he'll want to give it another go at a WS with Andy healthy.
The rotation, if healthy, should be SOLID.
The offense should be solid as well, with Lamb, Lane, Viz, Burke and Bruntlett as the key guys on the bench. Evvy will bring back some more speed and better range at SS...
I'm not so sure about Kent. He's a warrior, but he's getting old and has bad range at 2B. We need to give Burke a look...but Kent is a big part of the offense.

I have to agree with this. Garner needs to start using Lidge earlier (perhaps even as a setup man role to Wheeler since he's done great so far). If we can have lidge in the middle to late innings to hold the Cards down while our bats go to work grabbing a lead, then I think we'd have a better chance. Or our starters go 7 innings and pitch lidge 2 innings
