I thought it glanced off Womack's fingers first before hitting his collarbone. The collarbone can break easy but that's usually from landing on your shoulder... wouldn't surprise me that it's broken.. but I would think that the fingers would be damaged before his collarbone breaks.

"he didnt tag him, he was safe."

bah, people have been called out on such plays routinely in baseball. Blocking is good enough for some umps.

BTW, is it me or is a football game breaking out? 11-9?

Haha.

Yankees fans need more than a couple days to recover from the biggest collapse in sports history so anything I see posted from them will be considered a bit delusional! :D

tomorrow: Schilling v Morris

ERA: Schilling (3.26 v 4.72)

Wins: Schilling (21 v 15)

Playoff experience: Schilling (duh)

Huge pressure on Morris to keep Boston contained. Will fight hard to prevent being the first pitcher to give up a run. Simply can't compete with Schilling if he's on though.

Those obvious mismatches on paper always scare me a bit, but I have faith in Schilling, as long as his leg holds up.

Schilling and the Sox shouldn't have a problem today. I don't see Morris coming out with good stuff. In fact, I believe he's going to get shelled.

But I also thought Suppan sucked and the Stros would take advantage. Whoopsy.

goddamit, Griese!
Asked whether he feels more locked in now than he ever has in his career, Ortiz replied, "Well, in the postseason, I only have 11 RBI and during the regular season I had 139. So, no."

Actually, David, you have 19 RBI in the postseason, not 11, after collecting four on Saturday.

"I did? Damn. I'm a bad mother."

TLR's managing of the Cards baserunning isn't paying off. Sanders missed the bag and had to go back, and then Matheny lines into an unassisted DP because Sanders was running.

2-0 sox

the hit and run is by definition risky.. but it's aggressive baseball that usually pays off in the end, given enough opportunities. The blame should be laid squarely on Reggie Sanders.

man, larry walker is swinging real well right now. Unbelievable.

I know you guys will probably laugh at me, but since I just started *really* watching baseball towards the end of this year's season (I never liked baseball much, but I always find playoff baseball VERY intriguing and great to watch), but what is BB? I know IP - Innings Pitched, H - Hits, ER - Earned Runs, SO - Strike Outs, but I don't know what BB stands for :/
