The Simpsons |OT2| It's a pornography thread- We were posting pornography

I have to agree both community forums are practically dead. I understand that they moved these to get more people into community, but that just shows that the whole community forums were a failed experiment in the first place.

I post almost exclusively in OT community threads. Can't blame you for having that opinion, most everyone in most every thread had a similar attitude when they first got shipped in here.

New members slow a bit and the regulars stay for the most part.

LOL, when I was a kid I would've begged SO fucking hard to go there.

Forget about only being a kid and excited. I was dying to go to the 7/11 Kwik-E Mart promotions.

This just means I'll definitely stop by if I ever visit Miami or go to Florida. This and Hogwarts, it's like a childhood dream lol.

Community is a good thing. Better group. Less nonsense that comes with the normal OT section.

So we got the move to Community. Does that mean we can be more insular and aggressive towards people that try to talk about new episodes?

Man, fuck this stifling of conversation. If you dislike the content of a post so much, how hard is it to scroll past it?

Gabor Csupo, the head of the animation studio Klasky Csupo, decided upon himself to take the lead in animating the very first Simpson episode instead of his animators.
He did so by redrawing the Simpsons designs, re-writing & adding scenes, redesigning the sets depending on the frame. Everything was a mess, nothing matched up or looked right, & it all was half assed & poorly animated.

When that episode was fully animated & came back from Korea, Everyone on the Simpsons staff & the Fox execs sat down to watch it for the first time.
Afterwards, Matt told everyone to get out except for Sam Simon & James Brooks. They agreed that it was shit & would ruin the series if it was put on the air.

So they delayed the series for a few months, even though commercials were already airing on TV & sent that episode back for re-animation.
They prayed the other episodes coming in from Korea would follow what they specifically told the animators & not be completely off model & re-written or else they would have to scrap the series.
They were saved with the Christmas episode.

If you rewatch the babysitter episode you can still see remains of Gabor Csupo handiwork when Maggie is watching TV & one of the Happy Little Elves bites the head off another & blood starts squirting out as he dances around the corpse.
Wow, I didn't know about this section. I thought it was just a botch job from Korea. I'm assuming these are Csupo's scenes?

Although some really good stuff came out of the redone footage. I wish I had the gif of this shot, it's so well animated.

I'll add in that this episode fucking terrified me too as a kid. I was at the edge of my seat on the first viewing.

You ever known a siren to be good? No, Mr. Simpson, it's not. It's a bad siren. That's the computer in case I went blind, telling me, "Sell the vehicle to this fella, and you're outta business." That's what the siren says.

Yes, I posted the link in the previous page. :p

You can still see a lot of the crude and almost melt-like animation in the final episode as well.

Cant remember the context of this one...

homer-marge-hair.gif

I think Bart gave him a coupon for a free wig or something.

[Bart pulls two tickets out of his pockets]
Bart Simpson: Hey dad, sell you these for fifty bucks!
Homer Simpson: Woo-hoo! Sold!
[without a second thought, pulls out fifty dollars, hands it to Bart and takes his tickets. Bart happily runs out of the house]
Marge Simpson: Those aren't tickets to the game, Homer.
Homer Simpson: What do you mean? It says right here: "Free wig with every purchase of large wig. Downtown Wig Center."
[realizing he's been had]
Homer Simpson: Why, you little... !
[ponders]
Homer Simpson: Hmm, "free wig."
[imagines putting on Marge-type wig and humming]
Homer Simpson: [in Marge voice] I love you, Homie. Hmm.
[in normal voice]
Homer Simpson: Heh heh heh. I don't need her at all anymore.

One thing I like about seasons 11-13 is that they started to break the formula that Simpsons episodes had gotten into. There were some more experimental episodes. Trilogy of Error, Simpsons Tall Tales, and Tales from the Public Domain were all great episodes. It is a shame that they used the title, "Homer's Odyssey" back in season 1, but I liked seeing the characters doing things you wouldn't normally see them do.

Just realized Krusty looks like a palette swapped Homer. Turns out he was suppose to be Homer's secret identity. Mind blown.

I watched Viva Ned Flanders from S10 and Brawl in the Family from S13. I didn't expect to laugh as much as I did actually. Jerkass Homer was in full effect of course, but there was a lot of great gags one after the other. Kinda makes me want to revisit more of those seasons, haven't touched them since their initial airing.

Does anyone know what episode it was where Homer was sitting the car eating food at night and singing some song? I want to find that song.

It's not a great episode overall and it's from a season that's largely panned but the final story from Season 19's Love, Springfieldian Style is a brilliant parody of the 1986 movie, Sid & Nancy.

Replacing drugs with chocolate was inspired and the characterizations are bang-on in terms of mirroring the film from which this story was inspired. Love the voice acting from both Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith here as well as the animation direction from Raymond S. Persi.

"The Simpsons" is trending in the UK for some reason I can't understand, but it did bring this to my attention:

@TheSimpsons: "Hey fans! Submit your Seasons 10-24 trivia questions for the upcoming “Fan Edition” of #thesimpsons Trivia Game: http://simpsonstriviagame.com"

So far the only response is a trivia question from Season 7. Do you think they're realising nothing post S10 is memorable? Except maybe Duffman, when was he invented?

"Woohoo! Four day weekend!"

Something always confused me about the "Four day weekend!" line.

I mean, Marge says his work says if he's not in tomorrow don't bother coming in on Monday.

So is it Thursday today? But he already took today off so that'd be a five day weekend.

How does he get four?!?!?!?!!?

It's Homer. Math is not his strong point.

He wasn't including Thursday as part of the weekend?
