Oooo a Gary Larson calendar! I don't get it...I don't get it... I don't get it...I don't get it...I..don't get it.

Marge: Lisa, Bart, what did you two learn in Sunday School today?
Lisa: The answers to deep theological questions.
Bart: Yeah, among other things, apes can't get into heaven.
Homer: What? Those cute little monkeys? That's terrible.
Who told you that?
Bart: Our teacher.
Homer: I can understand how they wouldn't let in those wild jungle apes, but
what about those really smart ones who live among us?
Who roller-skate and smoke cigars?

Yea it's pretty great. When I did a rewatch of seasons 1-8 I followed along with that book. Strangely enough I did notice that it was missing some movie or tv reference notes. Still, an awesome companion.
You know, it would be nice if they released an updated version once the show ends, because since the Simpsons Archive never updated their capsules since season 13, I think.

With recent news that 1/4 of Americans don't know the Earth revolves around the sun.

Skinner: I'm telling you people, the Earth revolves around the sun!
Grampa: Burn him!
Reporter: What a story! *snaps picture*
Grampa: You've stolen my soul!

No, he's talking about Virtual Springfield, which I did get the same day I got X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter: Balance of Power. It was nice. Not perfect, but nice.

Anyone got that old PC game where you can explore Springfield?

Yeah, I had Virtual Springfield (I actually found my CD-ROM for it a few months ago) as well as Simpsons Cartoon Studio. Both very enjoyable back when they came out, no idea if they would hold up at all.

For those of you who are big into Simpsons art (aka you Tim Doyle aficionados), this may be of interest to you.

Mark Englert debuted an art exhibition last summer dedicated to all things Stanley Kubrick (The Shining, Dr. Strangelove, 2001, Full Metal Jacket, etc.) and among the pieces he showcased was this tribute print for the famous 'Shinning' segment of the best reviewed Treehouse of Horror installment (THOH V).

It was released as a limited edition print at last year's San Diego Comic Con.
And one of them has found its way up for bid on eBay if you'd like to add it to your collection.
Just $100 more than the LEGO house.

Women's Hockey on the Olympics right now and the announcers enthusiasm reminds me of the simpsons.

"Wing passes to center, holds it! holds it! HOLDS IT!"

I've been meaning to buy Virtual Springfield and the PC version of Hit and Run for a while now. I need to get on that.

Too rich for my blood. I see a sold listing for $250 and a best offer below $240 being accepted and a crap load of people looking for stupid money and getting no takers. Looks neat though. Maybe when the sellers get the head out of the clouds.

Besides, Tim Doyle is going to have another Simpsons Print any day now.
