I know we steer clear of New Simpsons but it really hit rock bottom.

That happened, complete with blowjob joke.

You forgot the bit with the clown orgy. And with Homer playing spectator to all of his son's sordid trysts.

Incidentally, the fact that I gave this episode an "Avoid Like the Plague" rating should give you guys renewed confidence that I'm compiling a decent recommendation list of episodes for Season 25.

Wow, Ms. Hoover? Never took her for a cougar. Then again, she's just as disenfranchised about teaching as Mrs. Krabappel, who had depths of her own.

Bane? Get them on board, I'll call it in.
I got the newest TV Guide in and the cover story was about the 550th episode (fuck me), and it's going to be animated in LEGO.
If they get the writers of The LEGO Movie, then maybe it won't completely blow.

That would be wishful thinking. The LEGO Movie 2 can't even get the writers of The LEGO Movie.

As much as I'd welcome a Phil Lord/Chris Miller penned episode of The Simpsons, that isn't in the cards.
Brian Kelley is writing the LEGO ep, "Brick Like Me", which airs on May 4th.

It is a Matt Selman-showrun episode, at least. So I'm optimistic it'll turn out decent.

Interesting that they don't even look like the official (new replacement) Simpson LEGO minifigs.

I wonder what the house itself looks like in the episode.

Kinda looking forward to this one at least.

just wondering... are there any serious quotes you like? going through some really early episodes I found quite a lot emotionally engaging "non-funny" scenes and themes. especially the first and second season are way different in tone sometimes. (probably had this topic a few times before but whateveerrr)
actually liked this mr. bergstrom line a lot for example:

"That's the problem with being middle-class.Anybody who really cares will abandon you for those who need it more."

whole substitute ep is heart-wrenchingly great of course.

Homer: "Weaseling out of things is important to learn. It's what separates us from the animals... except the weasel. "

I like that quote.

Homer's got a good one: "To alcohol! The cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems"

"I'll get you for this Middler!" is so hilarious. :D

lol I love that part too. I also uploaded another clip where Bart watches Dr.Hibbert remove a dudes appendix on the street, after which the appendix is tossed and it explodes. But as soon as I uploaded it, I got a copyright strike :(
I have a few golden scenes recorded on my phone but not sure if I can get away with them.

So apparently Chris Pirillo is going to be doing a live stream of the new Simpsons LEGO minifigs.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7mUiVuoHAlc

But it's at 9PM which is Game of Thrones time. And the bad news is it looks like they're all in those stupid unmarked random packages. I fucking hate that. I don't want to buy a hundred figures just to get a full set. That's bullshit. Just give me every character in one box.

I'll probably buy a bunch of them anyway. *sigh*

I just completed my set of the minifigs. Toys R Us FTW.

Honestly as a big LEGO fan they are the best I've seen. There is just so much detail. You are going to want these on your shelf :)

Are they blind packages? Or can you choose which one you want? How much are they?

Yes, they are blind. It's incredibly lame. I just bought 16 bags, got lucky and only had 2 dupes, and then felt bags in-store for the missing 2 that I needed. $4 MSRP

You can buy a whole set on ebay for about $100, but of course that means the bags have been opened and somebody touched them, who may or may have not just been picking his nose. MSRP for 16 bags is about $70 with tax, but you run the risk of getting dupes. They don't officially release until May 1, and the LEGO stores won't sell them until May 4, but like I said a lot of Toys R Us stores are selling them as we speak.

Thanks. I want these so bad. I thought I was gonna have to do the feel thing too. At least they seem to look distinct enough to be able to find a feature on each one that you can detect.

They really should be sold in a single box.

Also more playsets. And later a second batch of characters.

Agreed. We need a Kwik-E-Mart. And a series 2.

Another option is to buy a bunch of bags and feel them in privacy at home, then just return the unopened dupes. But yeah, study the accessories and head shapes and they are not too hard to feel out.
