The Song above you... Rate it!!!

Only thing I really knew of by seal was Crazy. This is better, but it's not quite to my tastes (I prefer my music to have a bit more of a rawness to it, a little bit of imperfection that gives it a bit of life)

7.6

Murder By Death: The Desert is on Fire

I celebrate the man's entire catalog.

That song there... I can appreciate it as a 7 or 8, but it's not for me.

I'll leave one more, different than my previous submission.

The Sheepdogs "Feeling Good"

Not bad. The vocalist's voice is quite handsome. I think I can drink to this [feelin' good/oh like you know I should]. It also sounds quite familiar, which is a benefit if you like the sound but is also a double-edged sword. Anyway, a 7.5 out of 10.

Oliver's "Night Is On My Mind" (16 seconds to the start of the track)

Edit: oops, I missed my go. Edited my selection to keep the proper sequence.

I really like this, but I cannot place why. I guess the stripped down nature just feels good. 8.9

(the sweet music video doesn't hurt)

Very chill, and suave...reminds me of some bond movie anthems.

Stonefield - Put your Curse on Me
First single from their debut Album. Kind of different from their previous songs, but still very reminiscent of '60s and '70s rock like most of their music.

They're definitely some good stuff. Like you said, that 60's/70's rock sound is very apparent, but sort of refreshing in a modern day sense.

Pure Love- Bury My Bones
This is my bud's band.

The Warrrrrrrrrrrm Warrrrrrrrrm parts are cool but I hate that drum beat so I give it a 6/10.

Opeth - Windowpane

^ Beaten. Was going to say that I totally dig the sound of a A Book of Black Valentines. Dark and drum heavy, I give it a 9/10. Gonna search more stuff from this band/artist, thanks!

Anyways, Opeth. Never been the biggest fan of theirs or metal in general, but that song was pretty nice and ominous, nice changes through the song. Didn't blow my mind or anything, but it was cool nonetheless. 7/10

Lately I've been listening to a lot of rather chill dance/electronic music. I've especially been listening to Luomo (aka Vladislav Delay) first two albums, Vocalcity and The Present Lover, some mighty fine Deep House / Micro House albums.

Here is a track from Vocalcity: Tessio
This track was later remixed for The Present Lover.
I think the Vocalcity version is better.

Taking a timeout here. Their first album (that I'm aware of) seems to not be available digitally anymore on iTunes or Amazon.com, perhaps it's other places. They have an album from 2007 (Black Triage) on iTunes that contains 6 new tracks (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8) and 7 tracks off the aforementioned missing album (7*, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14). It's as you said, dark, drum heavy, but I love it. But I grant that it's up to the listener.

* On the original album, this track is titled "Resentments of the Dead". On Black Triage, it is "Pray for Night to Fall." But it's the same track.

Someone please rate the above. I'm at work!

Luomo's aight, solid song. Love the progression.
Volcano Choir - Comrade

Sounds a lot like The Books in my opinion.

This sounds good although I cannot hear anymore auto-tune distorted vocals without thinking of Kanye West, think people should stop using them 7/10 (Ah, it's Bon Iver, sounded familiar)

But hey, thanks for the Jolia Holter recommendation earlier in the thread, I really love the latest album!

Something heavy

Please tell me how much you hate this song =)

All I know is that, unlike the blonde, this girl didn't seem to appreciate being screamed at by these two douchebags (I'd say the confused look of contemptuous disgust on her face gives her away), but she still tries to stay in character and fake it; she's a trooper.

As for me, I think I'll leave that crap to the screamo posers, and instead entertain myself with a little Isis.

So you hate Brokencyde like I do? Cool!

Isis, eh? I'm familiar with them, as well as the likes of Neurosis, Mastodon, etc.
