The Suffering 2: Electric Boogaloo (the thread)

A pal of mine rented The Suffering back when it first came out and played through nearly the whole game. It was very fun and I'd say it would be worth a purchase for $20.

I played the demo of Ties That Bind on the OXM and OPM discs, but it didn't feel the same. I'm not sure what it was. Something about the way the camera moved I think...It just felt a bit odd. But that was a demo so...I might give it a rent some time.

Personally I thought The Suffering was a GREAT game, but having a sequel to it with the same character totally screws up the story and the overall feel of the game... I agree, the sequel for some reason doesn't seem as good. Maybe if they used different characters and a whole different story it'd be more interesting...

That's what I thought: I mean, the whole point of The Suffering was that you conquered your demons. Of course, they could be going with one of the bad endings as the basis for this.

...now give me my psi-ops sequel, dammit.

I think the first game was surprisingly underrated, though I didn't get to it right away. I guess I'll wait some on this, I hadn't heard much about it.

I waited for the price drop on the first and will probably do the same on this one. IGN gave it an 8 and made it sound good, then as per usual GS kind of tempered my enthusiasm with their review.

I played the demo and it seemed like a significant step back from the first. No atmosphere, mindless action and it had that stupid cliched creepy doctor thing.
