Towards the end he finally just bear hugs her and over powers her, which is what I would've done (and have done in the past). I grew up with an older sister who would get pretty physical. We fought a lot, she usually won when I was just a little kid and she was a lot bigger than me. Once I grew up though, and could easily over power her, I would either bear hug her or just grab her flailing arms and push her away or something.

That's how I read it at least. Respect is earned, male or female. This woman did not earn it.

I see no reason that her gender should give her a free pass to commit physical assault without fear of the victim counterattacking and defending themselves.
