Pardon me but, turning around to confront a horde of zombies with a shotgun is a dumbass thing to do

Yeah, but he was running out of steam. Also, I'd buy Shane getting to the point of committing suicide by Zombie, given the circumstances.

Pretty good. I like the atmosphere the trailer set, with
them arriving at that farm place (haven't read the comics) at the end.
There seemed to be a lot of alliances forming/splitting off into multiple groups though. Hopefully the writing is better this time around.

'The Most Anticipated Television Event of The Year.'

Really? Trailers should really just stop with statements like this.

Looking good. Anyone know how many episodes theres supposed to be this time?

13 episodes. Also, S2 picks up right where it left off in last seasons finale:

Frank Darabont promises that Season 2 “picks up about five seconds in an overlap with the first season’s finale — so none of this bullshit ‘six months later’ stuff.”

Trailer looks excellent. I hope it doesn't deal with a lot of side vs side amongst the group though. That can tend to get annoying if it lasts a long time.

It's only a tad bit hyperbolic.

The Walking Dead was a huge hit for AMC, and it'is definitely one of the most anticipated shows this fall.

Yeah, it was huge right? And didn't the viewership climb every episode or something?

Also, thanks to the two posters above for the episode answer.

I can't remember exactly, but the premiere got somewhere in the neighborhood of 5 million viewers, and by the finale, it hit 6 million. So yes, viewership did indeed climb over the course of the season.

I'm confident Season 2 will improve upon the first. Season 1 was rushed and it showed. They've had ample time to plan out Season 2, and they now have a full season to work with. So I'm very optimistic.

And that's from someone who really enjoyed Season 1, faults and all. It wasn't nearly as bad as GAF kept making it out to be.

I never knew this show was as popular as some of you have described. I'll let them off on their statement then!

The pilot received 5.3 million viewers, making it the most-watched premiere episode of any AMC television series. The first season finale received 6 million viewers, a series high; with 4 million viewers in the 18–49 demographic, making it the most watched basic cable series for the demographic.
In the United Kingdom, it premiered one week after it did in the United States, on November 5, 2010 on cable channel, FX. The premiere had 579,000 viewers, almost double for any other show on FX that week. The viewership dipped during the season then rose to 522,000 viewers for the final episode. The terrestrial premiere on Channel 5 on April 10, 2011, averaged 1.46 million viewers.

The show was a tad hit and miss for me in places, but I will be sticking with it for the second season.

I must say I don't understand all the hate around Season 1, which was miles above many TV shows. Now, obviously, the 5 episodes weren't as good as the Pilot but I thought it was still great. Dunno if it was just hype to say that TWD sucked.

Hopefully, Season 2 can prove the haters wrong.

Maybe this time, they can actually follow the already existng really awesome storyline from the graphic novel that they paid for the rights too.

Otherwise, they should have just called it some other random thing.

Like the first episode. AKA the good one.

The first season was way disappointing, but I'm just glad it's not canceled yet. Hopefully it'll get some breathing room and find its niche.

I enjoyed season 1 even if it had some flaws. This one is looking really good though. It'll be a long wait until October.

AMC does this with all of their shows. Sadly only of two of them are really good.

God yes.

How awesome is it that we live in a time when two of the best shows on television are a zombie show and a fantasy show...and both are highly critically acclaimed dramas?

Movies are dead. Long live television.

It really wasn't above that many TV shows. Last 3 or so episodes were average TV at best. In the past year or so I've enjoyed Terriers, Fringe, Lights Out, Community, Parks and Recreation, Game of Thrones, Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad, Eastbound and Down, and Louie more, off the top of my head.

And at the time a lot of the "hype" was still in favor of the show as more and more people gradually agreed that the season weakened considerably in the second half. I remember a few friends being pissed at me because I commented on things I didn't like in episode 3, but by episode 6 they agreed.

Lost interest in season 1 to the point I still haven't watched the final episode. Didn't think it was bad, but certainly didn't think it was good either (first episode aside).

That said, decent trailer and might give it more of a shot if word of mouth is good. Also appreciated the Wye Oak song used towards the end; fit pretty well.

?

Looks promising.

I'm looking forward to this, but the characters/drama/whining in season 1 really really put me off from the show. I know it was probably the writing and the script they were given, but they were all just annoying and awful.
