Great work America, now time to settle the great .wav debate
"Wave" or rhymes with "have"?
Rhymes with "have"
Why would it be wave? There is a letter missing!
Now you're just trying to spark some new shit.
Between the debacle about holding American citizens without Miranda rights and this, I am now starting to question my vote last year...Hard G motherfuckers

Also it's logical because it's a rule of English for the most part to use the pronounciation since it's used with basically every other word:
How To Pronounce 'g'
The letter 'g' is most often pronounced like in 'go', however sometimes it can be pronounced as a 'j' sound, like the 'j' sound in 'just'
Rule: It is a 'j' sound when it is followed by 'e: 'i' or 'y'

You can be wrong, and I'll let you be wrong.
Take it up with the creator.
Let's put it this way. How do you pronounce "gift"? Now drop the t.
Do the people who pronounce it JIF also call GAF "JAF"?
That isn't a rule in English and never has been, in fact most occurances are the opposite in the case of 'if' following a g. Let me give you an example or two. Treat this experience like a GIFt rather than a gimmick. Girl fish's gills have the girth of a girder. By the way, using a source of an English teaching site that has '4u' in the name gave me a giggle.Would love to hear you say these words:

Wait, you mean "prezents", yeah? Seeing as everything is phonetic now?Our long national nightmare is over.
Presents
Wait, people pronounce "character" as care-actor?
Next up: Sness vs S En E Ess
Since it's a hard g in German, my mother tounge, there has never been any other way for me to pronounce it.
I also find the "g as in graphics" to be a knockout argument.
That one is easy, anyone that has the En E Ess calls it an S En E Ess. Anything else is wrong.
The knockout argument is that the creator says Jif. Do you go around telling people that they pronounce their name wrong?
I would tell Brett Favre he pronounces his name wrong

GIF debate aside, it's pretty cool that they've made a tumblr page. Followed.
Wait, what? People pronounced it as 'JIF'?
Color me surprised.
Reminder:
The format's creator decided the pronunciation NOT on the vagaries of the english language, not after considerable thought; he decided on the pronunciation based SOLELY
SOLELY
On the fact he thought it'd be a funny pun on the "choosy moms choose jif" peanut butter commercial.
That's it. That's the entirety of his consideration.
Jets?They're being silly Gits.
Jets?

Exceptions: Begin   giddy   and foggy . These have the 'g' sound
Aberrant, indeed.I must be the only muppet that actually spells it out as Gee Eye Eff.
