Not sure. I think that XBLA and PSN only evolve from here, so that defnitely an interesting route to take. I think that some franchises just don't have what it takes to hang on anymore, and just run out of steam, and usually lose what made them good.
I haven't read any new news about Hitman: Absolution, but it seems that they missed the point entirely of what made their old games great. They're trying to streamline it, so that a casual audience would embrace it, but I think that they don't realize that the casual market doesn't give a shit about a 60$ Hitman game, especially one that loses all semblances of originality. I think next gen, we're going to see a lot of games go back to their roots more often, and there will be a lot less trying to make the game more unnecessarily streamlined. I'm not saying that games can't streamline certain things, but rather games lopping off major parts of their gameplay that added depth, to serve a casual audience that doesn't, nor ever will, care about the game to begin with.
