I had a dream I was playing Pikmin 3 on Wii U last night. The Wii U controller's screen showed a full map of the location I was searching for ship parts as well as my position while the TV served as the normal view like the GCN games. You could swap the images though & control the game with the touch-screen & the TV had the map image but it was like a fog of war style map. You could see a part location on the map as long as you discovered it prior making navigation easier.

Also had a recon type unit to get an overview of the area & the Wii U controller screen would serve as the top-down view of the world as gryo would control its POV.

*just rolled out of bed. Tuned into the Bonus Round thingy*

Are we sure Geoff Keighley and Kevin Pereira are not the same person? That's something I've wondered about.

Errr... not too confident in how they all described the Wii U as current generation technology.

This has probably been brought up already, but I just noticed the new controller's sticks aren't notched around their radius. This comes in contrast to every previous analogue stick released by Nintendo.

Is that the one with the vibration pads under the corners? If not please clarify. I have Wii Fit Plus and the Balance Board, but haven't seen a "wii fit plus balance board" in the US.

It's the one with an analogue stick built in, to control with your toes.

I think it is a wise decition to remove those "corners" around the analog sticks and keep it fully 360 degree movement. I never really thought about it before, but when i played Max Payne 3 online earlier, i imagine that it must be annoying to be "locked" into those corners around the analog sticks.

Quick question for anyone who's had hands-on time with the controller: Are the buttons and d-pad clicky like recent Nintendo handhelds?

I really hope they are. Microswitches >>> Membranes

I haven't seen (heard) microswitches in standart controllers since......um......wonderswan?

would be awesome to get some but i really doubt it.

Edit:

lol i meant NeoGeo Pocket.

So I just watched the Bonus Round too. Kinda excited about Shanes comment, now it seems even more likely that this will be on par with other N system launch unveilings.
Oh god, soon we can call ,2 weeks left'... feels so surreal, hype and fear start to arise in me.

The buttons and d-pads on GBA SP, DS Phat, DSi, DSi XL, and 3DS are all microswitched, mostly out of necessity. Not sure about the GBA Micro.
