The Witcher 3 next patch first details - 1.05 (PC), 1.04 (console)

They said they were looking into it. Personally, I hope not. Even with the bug I'm nearly 3 levels above the main quest, would suck to suddenly be 5 or 6 levels ahead. If they do, I would prefer it be optional.

Same here, I'm taking my time and enjoying exploring and doing side stuff and I'm nearly 4 levels ahead. Combat is still challenging though, so i guess its okay.

nah, xp from side quests sucks. they give you the least xp after killing monsters/humans. do a couple of main quests and you'll level up like crazy.

yesterday i decided to do a couple of main quests and i went from lvl 14 to 17 in no time. and just by doing from point a to b type of quests.

that's why i understand as someone playing in death march difficulty the bullshit the xp bug is because some level 9-12 main quests to me are graying out after i hit 17 (and i need like 200xp for lvl 18) and this should be priority

edit: also i hope they revise the xp you get from non-main quests

I did a side quest yesterday that gave me a grand total of 10 xp.

Still waiting for the patch

Hopefully tomorrow

No fixes for:

-Don't Play with the Gods Treasure Hunt
-PS4 random crash issue
-Camera getting stuck zoomed into Geralt after swimming/fighting flying creatures
-Roach's common tendency to stop/slow down randomly making him a chore to use
-Long load times loading saves/switching areas
-Unforgiving fall damage

:(

What random crash issue? I haven't had a single crash on the ps4 version.

Novigard massive stutters anyone? it's insane. 970 gtx sli, 4790k 32gb ram
idk man novigard stutters really bad
also when geralt runs it feels so sluggy and stuttery idk how to explain it, anyone else having this problem?

Story quests give multiple levels. I played on Death March and rarely got XP for doing secondary quests and contracts. The real XP begins in story quests. It's not unheard of to gain 3-5+ levels in a story quest.

Also, there's monsters that are lvl 30+ in Velen, of course you shouldn't be fighting a lvl 28 monster at 14.

Really? Have not played a single story quest that has given me that much XP. I'm on the broken flowers quest. I wonder what level I should be at. Im currently an 11 and I've done a ton of side quests as well.

I didn't get xp for the "pyres of novigrad" quest but I did get some for "broken flowers" so hopefully I'm okay.

It is kinda weird though the actual quest after "pyres" was a level 7 quest so it was gray and no xp to be gained. I wonder why it wouldn't at least be the same level as "pyres".

They did? Last I read they said it definitely wouldn't.

Is there a link to a more recent comment?

Got xp for everything until Family matters ending got nothing at all. Guess this is it, until patch. Had so much fun this surpasses W2 for me. Such a shame.

I get camera stutters just standing and spinning outside the tavern of white orchard. I can't tell what I'm more excited for, stutter fix or xp at this point

I wanted to use this bug to complete a few missions before they fixed it. I'm overleveled so more xp doesn't sound good.
But splatoon came along so I haven't played W3 since.

I guess I'll be even more overleveled then. ;(

Getting perfect review scores. For an rpg that doesn't give you xp.

The xp bug wasn't known when reviews were made, was it even present?

And it may not even be as widespread as we think it is. Anecdotal I know, but I and the three people I know personally playing don't have it (I've played the least at 40 hours). And we'e not going to hear from people in threads like these who are playing the game without the bug as often as people complaining about it.

So while it is an issue that needs addressing, and even if it were present at launch, it may simply not be widespread enough for the reviewers to encounter it.

I know, I know. Just venting

I do to, because they would burn a ton of goodwill if it was the latter. It doesn't make any sense to do it.

It makes sense if they don't want to anger console owners by releasing a hotfix and then having to wait for certification a whole extra week or more.

how would I know what level I should be at? is there a list anywhere that shows how much xp you get. I'm a level 11 on broken flowers and I've done a ton of side quests. Does that sound right?

Next week now? Fuck. I won't play until it's fixed but these kinds of downtimes on new games are exactly what causes me to sometimes never go back to them. Nothing about the game is bad for me to not go back to it but history has shown me that if I'm taking a week long break from a new game then I really have to push myself back to it in order to finish them. Gonna have to stay off other games so they won't sweep me too into them to go back to witcher...

If this was any other company, I'd agree, but CDPR is still firmly a PC dev first that doesn't have to answer to publishers.

Fuck. FUCK.

FUCK. CDPR, I want to give you the benefit of the doubt because I think you guys are the coolest and this game's my GOTY by miles, but come on.

I bought The Witcher last week, but I haven't yet played it because of the shitty Nvidia drivers (bad Keppler support, crash prone). With the latest Nvidia drivers most of those problems are now gone, but now it seems like it's a bad idea to install the current game patch version (bugs, crash prone) so I'm still waiting for the right moment to start playing.

they honestly should just release a patch that fixed the xp bug then work on the rest. Do they really not realize people are not playing the game because of it?! smh
