Geeez, CDPR is not letting up:

Its the final stretch :) Took years to reach that point.

Anyone who cares or pays that much attention to these tiny little things is someone who'll never be satisfied with anything.

Console version looks great. Looking forward to this game.

I guess there is ever a point to upgrade to better hardware then. We all should sit and play our dusty N64

I don't think I will notice any of that unless I was looking for it. Still looks good to me.

Wait, I thought it was a joke. That comparison is silly. The crack looks better? Haha the angle of the lighting is different and of course that is going to affect how visible the crack is. The other stuff is equally nonsensical. Artists constantly change the design of things throughout development, but that is not a downgrade. I could easily point out that the grass is denser and looks better in the second shot. And the grass isn't clipping through the rock, it's growing on it. I like the changes they made there. The newer screenshot looks better to me.

Guys guys Xbox version will be fine. It will just have slightly lower vegetation and may have 2 3 fps difference.

Hahahaha really? You mean PC vs PC with NVidia Works enabled?

http://www.worldsfactory.net/2015/0...wing-nvidia-hairworks-hbao?PageSpeed=noscript

With HairWorks + HBAO+

and that second screen is there to show the supposed HBAO+.
Wait, that's an official (NVIDIA) PC shot showing off the graphics?

Yes it is, showing the supposed HBAO+ from NVidia.

Look the other pics in that same article showing HairWorks (which look different from the CDProjekt solution).

The fur, hair and beard look thicker and denser.

Lol, not sure if serious, but:

1. Different time of day, different lighting, crack is there in both shots but less visible in the lower.

2. Not even pointing out the same grass. The grass that's clipping through the rock does so in both shots, but is less visible in the upper shot, and the grass that's growing nicely between the rocks isn't even part of the lower shot.

3. Only valid point.
The geometry is clearly not as detailed...

I'm no artist but that first image looks way better then the second, the attention it detail looks incredible.

Does anyone know where the first shot comes from?? Because the second shot is pretty old...

I know it is nitpicking but I really hope that's just a settings or not final screenshot thing because the first pic really does look better. But can we really know where in development either of the pics came from truly? Also. Is there any footage of that location in the recent videos that anyone knows of so we can look at how it really looks there??

Wow...this is an whole new level of nit-picking. *shakes head*

Didn't really pay attention to the grass stuff but the geometry in the first screen is a lot better implemented. Hopefully it will be like that first screenshot in the final build.

The only thing you could possible point to is the edge is cleaner now and doesn't look like a crumbling, decaying structure anymore. The developers probably decided they didn't want it to look so much like a decaying city, but rather one that was generally being upkept.

Are you seriously nitpicking about something so minor, in a game so huge.

... Where practically everything else we have seen is:

But nope. There are a few blades of grass sticking out of a rock and the edge of a wall is too sharp. Totally ruins the rest and everything else going on.

Yes, the overall quality is clearly the same and the game looks incredible, but let's focus on this one corner on one wall in the vastness of the game world just so we can say there's a downgrade. This is where it becomes obvious that some people want for there to be a downgrade.

Of course these people will completely ignore the instances where the game has been enhanced.

This game has some seriously sharp knees walls, so disappointing.

They changed Geralt's mount from a majestic bear to a ugly looking horse? Downgrade-a-ton confirmed!

He got it wrong anyway. The grass isn't clipping through the rock, it's growing on top of it (like grass often does). That grass isn't tall enough to clip through a rock that high and poke out the top.

I guess you didn't understand my post.

All good though, enjoy playing the game on your PC. I'm sure the nicer cracks on the wall or those luscious green leaves are going to make a HUGE impact to how the game plays. But I'm just a console peasant...what do I know, right?

This game looks great on PS4, just in time since ended Bloodborne platinum this week, now I am ready for a new adventure and lore.

Its not just the huge towering trees. It was the personality of Flotsam. The fallen branches with moss and plants growing over them, the dead trees, roots growing through and over rocks, puddles accumulating in small areas. It just gave off that atmosphere of a living breathing forest.

Its an open world game, I understand that level of craftsmanship is unrealistic. It was just a passing reflection.

I know what you mean. The forests around Flotsam are still one of the most beautiful and graphically impressive areas I've seen in a game. The huge trees reminded me of the redwoods we have in the western US. The whole forest had a kind of fantastical quality about it.

But to be honest, these forests we've seen so far in The Witcher 3 are more natural looking than any forests I've ever seen in a game. They look organic, not like a theme park setting like in most games.

That said, this is a very big game and we've really only scratched the surface. I'm almost certain that there will be many types of forests, including some that are more fantastical. Some of the previous screenshots hinted at that.

You're right though, I'm someone who is never satisfied because I always want more and better and more and more. Things like there being no footprints in the sand and certain things destruct where others don't. But we're not technologically there yet.

Point being, I'll enjoy this game and love it to pieces because of he art style. Just like I still love the witcher 2, but when I'm finished I will absolutely want more. More!

Aggressive screen tearing in the upper half of the screen when on the horse. Oh well, it'll run better on my PS4 than on my PC anyhow!

im very very sensitive to this kind of problem specially and i have looked at the video at least twice and cant see a single frame tear

There any word on when preload starts on psn? Was planning to get this off psn as it's cheaper and unlocks early but my net us kinfa crap and if it only opens 48hrs before I'll just go retail.

No. It is not confirmed.

Just speculation, like most discussion about this game.

Just like the supposedly "downgraded" Igni fire effect. Some people claimed it was downgraded, but it turns out the signs have more than one version or strength, and now we've seen the stronger Igni in various videos. People shouldn't jump to conclusions based on insufficient information.

If that "downgrade" comparison image is true, I wouldn't exactly call it nitpicking; those very little things all create a scene that is more than the sum of its parts, so when you start removing things little by little, it is noticeable. To my eye, the lighting and geometry is clearly worse, particularly the where the two sides of the wall meet.

The real question is whether you're the type of person to let superficial things like this bring down a game that's looking to deliver where it counts.

I agree. I think they've intentionally only showed us very limited areas of the game, and that there's far more that they're NOT showing us so we can be properly blown away later while playing. Consider that pretty much every video we've seen these last few weeks has been from the prologue, including these PS4 videos. The size of the game world doesn't mean anything if it all looks the same, and CDPR knows that.

Those images were taken down. Chances are that Nvidia posted early shots without knowing/caring about the shitstorm that would ensue on gaming forums. No point reading much into media that wasn't intended for public consumption.

The real question is whether you're the type of person to let superficial things like this bring down a game that's looking to deliver where it counts.

That's not the real question. I think people are free to decide what is important and what is superficial. But we need to make sure it's done with the right set of input. Images that were taken down are not worthy of any discussion or judgement.

I love that.

So far they've spoiled little to nothing of the story and little to nothing of major bosses or area/enemy variety, all while showing the game and exposing it very adequately.

I think they've done a great job.

I'm definitely not. Honestly, I've watched all these trailers and I would never even know that most of these things have changed without the comparisons shots. If this was May 19th I would have walked past that wall and not batted an eye.

The only exception is burning village since that is such a drastic change in everything.

Upon closer inspection. This.

Although that wall corner does look bad. Noticed it while looking at the Nvidia site.

I think some of what we've seen from the YouTubers is from both main world maps. I know AngryJoe's video showed part of Skellige. It's just that the time limit only let the YouTubers explore a fraction of the game world.
