Bought a map for Bear School gear from a merchant, but it doesn't start the quest when I read it :(

Does it only trigger the quest if its the First Map for said school?

I found the guy who should play Geralt btw

Hello...

Im level 6 and got some quests for cat armor lvl 20~25 ... Am I supposed to wait until that level to do then?

Ty

You can probably do them a bit before. General rule of thumb for me at least has been sticking to stuff within 5 or so levels.

It generally means you'll have to deal with monsters around those levels in order to get the quest done. Not always, some encounters can be avoided, but most will.

As for changing her back - no idea.
Give me a universal storage chest ffs. Just put it in the inns like in the previous witcher games.

Over encumbrance is not a problem with the Zerrikanian saddlebags (give 100 extra inventory) but it's annoying when you have two armor sets in your inventory that you only need once you have the proper upgrade diagrams.

I bought the first map for that and it didn't trigger either. It might be because I've never been to Skellige yet which is where it seems like the quest is set. Or a bug.

A weird thing... in White Orchard I found like 5 places of power and I am playing quite some time in the open region of Velen and havent encountered any.... I assume there are more right?

Hmm

:p

When you run across a named quest not given through the noticeboards, does it have to be done there and then, or can you come back to it?

Got one where I was supposed to escort some guy on a walk along the docks, but it culminated with an encounter against enemies more than twice my level

Has it been 100% confirmed that installing the hair/beard DLC does NOT break the beard growing back if you choose the shave option? Heard some differing reports on this. I want to download the DLC, but not if it's gonna make Geralt incapable of growing his sweet facial hair (I know it doesn't grow if you choose a specific style).

Yes, indeed there are. The region is big, so it's unlikely you would just stumble upon one after just a few hours.

Quite a few, often at question marks.

The most obscure one to me was above the abandoned building in Skellige where you do a quest involving someone being possessed. There was no proper way to get behind the building, so I bugged the shit out of the roll-jump(?) until I somehow ended up behind it. When I went back down, there were stairs and everything, but still now way to actually get back, except a buggy floating textured ledge that let me back out. Weird as hell.

That is normal, I had the same issue. It will pop up once you get to Skellige. If it doesn't, read the map again.

What was more annoying for me was the quest naming in the Polish version. Bear and Griffin treasure hunts were named like this:
Armor quest
Upgrade 1
Upgrade 2
Upgrade 3

So 4 sets in total, while the cat quests were named
Armor quest
Upgrade 2
Upgrade 3
Upgrade 4

Also 4 sets in total. It almost made me tear my hair out, I checked all the blacksmiths in Velen, Novigrad and Skellige 3 or 4 times for maps before I realised it was a naming error.

Pity that the Bear armor reduces energy regen, it's by far the best looking one. Cat and Griffin get worse with every upgrade. I rolled with the Bear armor as soon as I unlocked it for the looks alone. I had to adapt my playstyle to the slower regen (was using the Cat set earlier)

And I'm still mad I can't craft the sword for the Bear set, because it requires the alchemy ingredient Nigredo for whatever dumb reason, and I still don't have the recipe despite finishing the main storyline. I'm running in the fully upgraded Bear armor and the fully upgraded Cat swords.

Also, upgraded Quen + swordsmanship build is awesome. That last talent that allows you to cast a max level Sign with 3 adrenaline points + entire energy bar is godlike. Also the ability that let's you cast Signs with adrenaline points is a game changer.

After messing around with the game last week (like I usually do with games), im finally starting the game for real. A few questions though -

1) Any way to move the camera back when using Witcher sense?

2) Do plants/bushes re-spawn or are they one and done? Love gathering them all but don't want to do the same exact spots twice. LOL.

3) Can you loot the battleground that's in the beginning of the game at any time or will I lose the items if I don't do it now?

Thanks.

Just saw the 3 different main endings on YT:

- Ciri dissappears
- Ciri lives, but goes to the king/Emhyr
- Ciri lives, becomes a witcher

Super glad I got the last one, but it was a bit tricky to get it.

i feel like if you haven't read the books, one of the ending factors is super harsh.

1. No
2. They respawn.
3. Should be able to, though I don't recall there being anything especially noteworthy.

Love that song and I chuckled a lot about the audience reactions.

Finished Family Matters for reals, and I've got to say the Baron is one of my favorite characters in any recent videogame.
This going to be good in the next "your favorite video game character"-thread.

"Definitly the fat bearded wife beater who surpresses the peasants. Really love that bastard."

But seriously, we are lacking people who are both black and white in most media.

Oh shit I checked my play time on steam and it says 30h and I just completed the 2 first main quests in Velen , guess Il continue the main story for a while lol
I did tons of side quests and contracts, man this game is huge .

This game is beautiful but at the same time so dark and depressing .

Bloody Baron (family matters) quest spoiler :

With the decisions I took the Baron committed suicide I know he was beating his wife but damn, what a tragic story I was standing in front the hanging Baron staring for a while thinking about how it could have turned out differently

This game is so awesome .

Thanks. No reason for me to go nuts with all the plants and bushes. For the battlefield, I just like to loot every body. Hate it when I miss one. LOL.

He's vile, but you can tell he's a good guy deep inside. The way he treated Ciri and the little girl was a good sign of that. He reminded me a bit of Robert Baratheon from Game of Thrones.

I gotta say, travelling through a dense forest on horseback at sunset is just fucking gorgeous. I rarely use the roads anymore.

Discovered markers are white, completed ones (i.e. you've looted the treasure or whatever) are greyed out. Doesn't seem to apply to things like cave entrances though (they stay white no matter what I do), so keeping track of which of those you've cleared out is a bit more difficult.

Thanks... That's what I expected but I can't tell the difference when I'm looking at the map. Maybe if I stand closer to the tv next time I look. Hopefully I can figure something out.

Yes, for sure.
Wehen I first met him feared that he maybe tried to rape Ciri, but I saw with the delight that he actually had a bromance with her. He really enjoyed her company and was super greatful. In fact, I think that the reason why Ciri's room is such a mess is that he didn't touc hit and kept his men from touching it, to just leave it there for her, should she come back to feel at home. Same for the little guy being allowed to stay there and being in the kitchen without anyone looking after her where she could steal food.
He was also a real men of action, trying to fighting the monster together with Ciri, leading the squad into the swamp and searching for a healer himself.

But at the same time, really have issues and being responsible for various cruel things. This mix of genuinly good and genuinly bad traits, instead of just being bad with excuse or just being good and just mislead is amazing.

Same, the isolation is nice. Makes a good difference that the trees all move and rustle in the wind around you.

Also, anyone find it strange how slow levelling is? Specifically, unlocking the character so you can put more skills into him? Feels sometimes like I'm making no progress lol.

I'm playing on second hardest difficulty if that matters.

Holy shit my quest turned out completely different! We must've picked completely opposite choices because I wouldn't have seen that coming. I guess spoiler warnings for quests aren't even enough with this game.

Finished Now or Never. Velen refuses to let me leave.
Let Triss go. Felt like the more responsible thing to do with Novigrad being a hell hole. Dijkstra mighta coulda told me he had a plan to get rid of that problem sooner though. Guy is really hard to get a read on. Great character.

Question about Crow's Perch after Family Matters.

Does the little creature that showed up in one of the cutscenes appear again in the story or did I miss the chance to interact with it? I saved his wife and he left to find a healer, Sergeant took over and the men have been out raping and killing and I searched the house (Blocked by a couple of locked doors) and couldn't find it.

I really liked Keira and was planning on "getting to know" Yen a lot more..but after "A Matter of Life and Death" and "Now or Never" I don't see anyone topping Triss.

It's slow, but it's balanced alongside the content.

There's a mod you can use to increase xp earnt from enemy kills and quests. It's very simple to install (literally drag and drop some files and click once to activate it, a tiny edit to a file if you want to edit quest xp).

Search for TW3 mod thread if you're interested. Be aware that if you use it you'll very likely over level later content.
