Only thing I want added is to be able to sort my inventory the rest is fine by me.

And the text size, don't forget the text size!

OT: God some of the expressions and emotes in this game are the kind I've never seen in an RPG before. Witcher 3 is another level of RPG. The benchmark going forward.

What's wrong with it? I think it's fine.

Really? Dumping all "usable items" into one place, no matter how wildly different they are, is fine? Nah, it's bad. Potions, oils, bombs, food and drink, books and notes, etc, all on the same tab, it's a mess. Finding that one potion you're looking for is a chore. Needs at least 2-3 more tabs.

I'm not a fan of how weapon scaling works in this game. There are some cool relic weapons but you can get them as level 4 weapons or level 39 weapons depending on when you do the sidequest.

I also plan to get the mastercrafted feline set and either use the starting witcher chest with it or mastercrafted ursine chest. Mixmtaching armor will be fun.

A quick question for people who know what they're doing with crafting as I'm completely new to it.

To craft armour/weapons, when I get items should I be dismantling them down to their base parts or should I be crafting them up? For somebody who is new to these games the amount of "stuff" seems incredible and I have no idea how to approach the crafting.

Thanks.

So, I can't find this answer for sure anywhere, if anyone knows I'd appreciate it.

Minor romance spoilers.

Does sleeping with Keira Metz ruin your ability to pick either Triss or Yen, or does it have no affect on the ending you get?

Any help would be appreciated.

I think there is a suspend/resume bug in the PS4 Version where the timer runs even in suspend mode.

That is unfortunately how the system works for ALL games. It's not limited to CDPR. I have BB and Dark Souls save games in the 19 hour mark for characters that just got to The Hunters Dream and Majula.

What's wrong with it? I think it's fine.

A sort system should be there first order of business; having to scroll past a bunch of books and notes to get to my potions mid fight is not fun.

Second, and this is probably not an issue on the PC, but actual navigation of the inventory system is sluggish at best, glacial at worst. Dumping items seems to help, but given that there isn't a storage system and I have been burned a couple of times on getting rid of items "I didn't need" this isn't really a great option for players.

Third would be adding a few more tabs. Why is one delineation "Useable Items?" Books/Notes in with potions and food? What? I'd be fine with potions/decoctions/food in one tab, but why the heck are treasure maps and my 4 copies of Do It Yourself! in there. It makes in combat navigation a chore, combined with the above mentioned sluggishness.

Finally I'd like them to split alchemical and crafting, though the only reason for that is because that tab is just way too huge (sorting might solve this as well).

A few QOL measure would be a "trash" tag on items so that I can autosell them and get them out of my inventory area (DAI does this and it's wonderful for de-cluttering your item space) and not saying I have a new item in inventory screen EVERY time I pick something up that I've seen before or already have 45 copies of.

The way I go about it is I start from the top, work my way down through the "levels", and then work my way up again. Check what I need to craft the sword/whatever, check if I can craft what I don't have, otherwise check if I can get the parts for crafting those parts by dismantling other stuff, etc. I never craft anything until I need it.

After messing around with the game last week (like I usually do with games), im finally starting the game for real. A few questions though -

1) Any way to move the camera back when using Witcher sense?

2) Do plants/bushes re-spawn or are they one and done? Love gathering them all but don't want to do the same exact spots twice. LOL.

3) Can you loot the battleground that's in the beginning of the game at any time or will I lose the items if I don't do it now?

Thanks.

1) If you are on PC, there is a mod for the camera. (Though the FOV change applies to both the Witcher sense and the regular camera).

So you could revert them to their originals if you mess up.
I'm just trying to help.
Try reverting back to an old save and see if that helps, if not ask someone for a copy of their files.

Sorry, i know, thanks for that. Was just me trying to be sarcastic. Resetting my inis didnt help, going back to a old savegame works. Though that save i dozens of hours old, wont be using that.

I've got the Superior Ursine diagrams but need them Enhanced Diagrams first. Where to get these then?

In some ruins and remote location all over Skellige. Good hunt!

(If you really wanna go the easy way, find a merchant with one of the Treasure Map OR the cheap way, go on youtube. I'm pretty sure it's already all on it)

I'm slowly getting into the right mindset too. But the thing that's a bit weird is that t level 4/5 I keep fighting level 7-10 enemies. Even though I've read (and tried) that a more difficult setting is more fun, at this point I just can't really be bothered because I die a lot in really normal skirmishes, and I don't want the difficulty to hamper my exploration and progress. But it does make me wonder if I should try to level or put some effort into the main quest first. Then again, I think you're always supposed to fight monsters a bit higher than you, right?

Oh and I can't seem to find oils in my inventory; are they used as normal potions/consumables?

And when did you guys start upgrading your sword? I'm in need of some emerald dust.

I'm encountering enemies 3-5 levels above me and having no problem dealing with them. As long as you use the correct tools (check bestiary for weaknesses or just use common sense, or: Ard versus flying creatures, etc...) you shouldn't have a problem.

The combat takes some getting used to, fighting groups is the hardest to learn. I concentrated on practising quick target switching and rolling/dodging before anything else, now I can finish off most groups without taking a hit (B&BB). The trick is to approach every fight with caution. Dodge in hit and dodge away. Use the right signs, clump enemies together for CC, let them come to you over charging in, don't get greedy with your combos or they'll punish you with counters, etc...

I really recommend taking some time to actively learn each mechanic. Combat has become so satisfying and fluid since I did that.

Potions and oils are found in the usable items tab.

I'm only level 6. Just met Keira. Not upgraded a sword aside from adding a rune, and I refuse to wear the clown armour so I'm still using the starter kit (although I did find an upgrade for it).

Loving this game thus far! The setting is beautiful and there's just so much content you'll be satisfied for quite a while. Still haven't even beaten the main story line yet, though I think I'm close. The story has been awesome as well.

That battle at Kaer Morhen against the Wild Hunt was incredible awesome! Loved every minute of it, but Vesemir *sad*.

Loving the armor as well. I'm lvl 27 with enhanced (lvl 22) ursine armor and it looks great. This is definitely one of the best games I've ever played.

I haven't left white orchard yet though I'm supposed to. Want to make sure I don't miss anything.

Also, anyone else have to save every 10 minutes because the video freezes? I can hear the game still playing but just have a frozen image on screen.

I know it says recommended level 7, but I am trying to defeat the werewolf while I am at level 4, not much trouble until he starts regenerating health, any tips?

Anyone know what the highest saddle is and where you can possibly get it from? I've got the Superior Cavalry Saddle (70 Stamina), but haven't seen anything higher.

IGNI to keep his health from regenerating+ bombs like grapeshot to take bigger chunks faster. you really cannot relent once he starts regenerating. Might just be too low level.

Use the green oil that gives you a boost in agility I belive and use the mind control Sign then judt keep hacking at him.
Even after you defeat him he comes back for obe mote time after the cut scene.

It just comes down to attacking him quickly enough to beat his regen. Gotta get his attack pattern/rhythm in. Dodge-attack-attack every time he lunges at you, basically. And quickly Quen up again if you get hit. Also, make sure to apply the correct oil to your sword. Pretty sure I was also around lvl 4, maybe 5, when I beat him, and I'm playing on Death March. I did already have the Viper silver sword though, definitely helped.

EDIT: Ah, some good tips above too.

Read almost any of TW3 threads and you'll likely find quite a few posts referencing this.

Try rolling back the drivers if you have an nvidia card, that seemed to fix it for me. Since 1.03 and the roll back I've not had a single crash after 10 hour or so play time.

You can also try:
Use full screen mode only.
Set frame rate to unlimited and use an external tool to limite frame rate (search for Durante's PC gamer Witcher article).

Ahh, yes, does the mind control stop the regen?

Finally going into Novigrad, such a beautiful area after you cross the Pontar.

Oxenfurt didn't have much to do, at least not yet. I managed to jump into two areas that were walled off, and it's pretty obvious there's going to be big quests taking place there. I looted one and got some higher level diagrams and better potions. I also managed to glitch myself into the academy, nothing interesting though.

Random thoughts about game.

I feel an uneasiness whenever i cross the swamps. What have i done? I love this feeling.

After doing quests for hours inside the walls of novigrad i was feeling claustrophobic. It was so good seeing the countryside again.

This game needs a hardcore mode. With drinking potion animation and old style alchemy. And no automatically drawing sword.

My favorite songs from the OST are:
Hunt or be hunted
The song of the sword dancer
Ladies of the woods
Silver for monsters
Steel for humans

Hmm

#worried

:p

When you run across a named quest not given through the noticeboards, does it have to be done there and then, or can you come back to it?

Got one where I was supposed to escort some guy on a walk along the docks, but it culminated with an encounter against enemies more than twice my level

IIRC you have to read the maps. Then the quest activates and Geralt might grunt about something.

Have you tried this too?

Has anyone found a good guide for where to find the Griffin armor' upgrade diagrams? I'm all about side stuff in this game, but I'm too lazy to do that part myself.
