Loving the Gwent titles although I think it's best to picks ones that won't be confused with the other thread. So tough!

Here is a shortlist of the most popular:

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Radovid Sucks Flaccid Cock

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| The Northern Kingdoms is where he Gwent

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Bring out the gimp.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Pam Perram Pam Pam Perram

Liking the first and last ones.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| The Curse of the Windy Indoors

I've got a Gwent bug I need to scratch though! Thanks, else I would've ended up in there like a buffoon.

I got rocked in the tourney despite sweeping just about everyone in the game so I'm waiting awhile to actually try it again anyway.

Any game that waits for an animation cycle to be completed before allowing you to begin another movement is bad.
The only game I can remember that was like that was Uncharted 3's melee and I remember people defending that game too. At least with Uncharted it was because ND really wanted to show off how fancy their animation blending was. Still was to the detriment of the game.

Your movement as Geralt in the world is broken. Its not player specific its just the way the game is. Some people are fine with it and can look past it I mean I certainly looked past a lot of jankines with Skyrim and it didn't even have close to as good of world building as Witcher does but that doesn't mean I can't acknowledge how subpar the gameplay is.

Anyhow im beating a dead horse. I do love the game just not any of the parts that have to do with playing it. Thats the last Ill bring it up because I am sure its getting tiring for everyone.

I still don't understand how any of that is "broken".

Seems to me that you really don't like the character's inertia and that ruins the second to second gameplay to you. That's fine, but there isn't this deep problem with it's mechanics that make the combat broken.

Damn, so far I am loving the Feline armor, especially enhanced. Can't wait to see superior, if that's a thing. Also, is there only a Kaer Mohren armor piece? I didn't notice the other default gear having a special name. Where are the upgrade diagrams?

I missed the inn keepers gwent cards during the prologue.
Does she reappear post game? Are her cards needed for the trophy?

I didn't see myself playing gwent, but once you get better decks it's super easy.

You know what a nice detail is, when a cutscene is engaged and you were on horseback... there is a sequence of geralt getting off the horse to talk. It is just fantastic.

I'm over 30 hours in and just went to the Inn at the Crossroads. I'm loving this alchemy build at level 5 and coming across points of interest. Spent 20 minutes whittling down a level 18 hag yesterday, it was awesome. Bit annoyed that most of the armor I'm finding is medium and heavy stuff, though.

Basically my strategy is to have always have a decoction up (usually Griffin), appropriate oil applied, and with my increased toxicity, I can use swallow and thunderbolt without overdosing from toxicity. Unfortunately, I don't have every oil yet so when I fight something that I don't have oils for, I switch out to the time slowing on counterattack skill since I don't have enough slots yet. My current build.

My long term goal is a build like this, prioritizing synergy with crit chance, crit damage, DOT procs, and decoction/potion drinking. Benefits include:

45% fast attack damage
10% fast attack crit chance (+50% more crit chance for each opponent killed when toxicity is over 0)
175% fast attack crit damage (+100% more crit damage when adrenaline points full)
25% chance of poisoning target
25% chance damage reduction
Bleeding procs from fast attacks
100% chance to use another potion for free
When toxicity is above 2, time slows on counterattack
25% damage reduction
Huge toxicity pool, room for two active decoctions and extra potions
Oils last forever

I may switch out the time slow on counter attacks or oil lasting forever for the mutagen multiplier. Both are conveniences, not necessities, and the mutagen bonus is huge. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with the synergy here, assuming I have enough points in the trees to unlock higher tier stuff. I absolutely adore the skills in this game so I felt like gushing about them a little.

I noticed that last time I played for the first time. Also saw the alternate Quen shield visually shows rain hitting it.

Am I the only one not interested in Gwent? Played one game of it and never touched it again. Then again, I am not a fan of minigames in already such a vast game.

Anyone else think Delusion shouldn't take up one of the ability slots?

There are some conversations where you can use it, but you can't exit out of the conversation to equip it

In regards to Carnal Sins..
It seems I missed the killer and on returning to Novigrad there's more bodies. Will it let me pick the quest back up?

Not into Gwent, but, can see how it has its hooks in some folks. I'll give it a shot someday. I do buy any card I see from the collectible angle though.

I was the same way up to about level 7. Then I played once, and was instantly scouring the world for Gwent players. Maybe an entire 5 hour session, all gwent.

Fair enough its not broken in the sense that Geralt doesn't fall through the world when it happens but it is bad imo.

On a positive note the side quests in this game are so inventive and satisfying. The amount of backstory and character development they put into even basic NPC's blows my mind and makes the world feel so rich and alive.

No, you're not the only one. I have no interest in it whatsoever but sadly, im pretty sure that several side quests require playing and winning at Gwent in order to open up that particular side quest. Don't know how many side quests have this requirement though.

Ursine is the armour to get.

Geralt in a coat looks odd to me, and I really dig the Sign Intensity bonus that the Griffin armor gives. Figure if I've gotta choose between two sets that I don't like visually, might as well take the one with better stats.

What Heringer said.

It's definitely not 'broken'. You can argue it makes it feel clunky, heavy or unresponsive (even though technically it's none of those things except heavy). I don't think you can argue it's broken.

I don't want to bring the argument up again, Evazan, but look at how responsive and spot-on dodging and blocking is.
And again, blocking is not responsive because of the NPC's counter-windows being huge. Blocking is responsive because it happens immediately
. The fact that these combat mechanics are super-responsive – just as much as parrying and dodging in Bloodborne – tells us that Geralt attacks and swings slowly/heavily by design, not by error.

It's not a 'broken' mechanic – but fair play if you really dislike it.
