The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Haha, decided to farm a few cow hides to make up the cost of having a few items repaired and came across CDPR's "fix". That was a bit of a shock. ;)
what happened?

new to the witcher series. i'm having a hard time getting money. like a piece of cheese costs 42 from the first merchant, goddamn. i'm doing quests but you get like 20 here 20 there... not a lot. merchants don't seem to pay a lot for items either. I sold a huge stack of axes and barely got anything.

even maintaining your armor costs quite a bit of money

wondering if anyone has any tips

just loot everything possible and sell anything you don't need.

Sell weapons only to blacksmiths, armor only to Armorers, junk only to innkeepers.

Okay, what about things like letters and books? after you read them do you need to keep them anymore? not counting items in the quest items tab

I read something where the poster said not to sell your starter gear because you can upgrade it to some pretty decent gear even for later game play, is that for every piece of that gear or just the swords or what?

Spoiler, Novigrad Missions with Triss, Act 1 -
The Masquerade was such a nice change of pace- it was really fun to just dress up, carouse about, and make out with Triss. I'm Team Yen 4eva, but call it a moment of weakness. I told her I'd miss her, and sent her on her way after helping the Mages. Djikstra is always about, his stories about Phillipa reminded me of the crazy Redania days.

Game is pretty freakin' incredible. 70 hour mark eclipsed, just heartily enjoying every moment of it. Also, The Witcher gear scavenger hunts have been something special- some great platforming trials!

I love it when they put in some nice and subtle reference.

Anyone caught the Snow White and 7 Dwarves one?

Main quest, Isle of M
ists spoiler:

Ciri is in the house with 4 dwarves, plus the 3 we need to find.

During one contract Geralt finds line of salt being used to keep ghosts out. He laughs and says how that is foolish superstition and doesn't work. Am I reaching, but isn't that Supernatural reference?

Edit: edited for slightly less derpiness

I still have an NPC Druid who has an explanation mark above his head and on the map who won't talk to me, no matter what time of day. He just sits on a rock and says Witcher over and over.

Also I did the Cave Of Dreams (or nightmares?) and finished it, now it says I failed it later, read it's a bug more people have it. Hope they fix it, having a big FAILED section in my quest list is annoying, specially when I beat the mission anyway.

There are three words that women care for
I love you
. The game is realistic in that :p.

So take care to who say them.

Welp I'm fucked then :( do I really get the bad ending now? I said the same thing to both Triss and Yen.

Doesn't Geralt himself give that very same suggestion (salt in front of doors etc.) During one of the Act 1 quests? I distinctly recall it during parts of one of the first main quests in Velen.
Spoiler for said quest:
It's during the Bloody Baron questline, with the botchling, he tells the baron to make sure all the residents stay indoors and put salt in front of their doors.

Or I'm completely misremembering it.

Regarding the Count Reuven's Treasure quest, does anyone know if
getting information about the treasure instead of Dandelion
has any significant consequences? Aside from adding an extra section
where you have to meet with the spy
, I mean. It seems like
getting the information on the treasure's location is the better choice since it seems like the spy quest will lead me to Dandelion anyway, although Triss wasn't happy with the decision
.

Cohesion slip up? But then that quest wasn't about ghosts.

I think you're right but I can't remember which quest he says it
unless I'm misremembering as well

What save bug?

Also, hearing about all the issues with the new patch kinda makes me glad the Bone doesn't have it yet. CDPR taking one step forward, two steps back.

The game won't save, auto or manually, when you press save it states "you cannot save the game right now", thankfully I only lost 30 minutes of progress could have been worse.

Isn't there short grace period after fast traveling, quest checkpoint etc. that prevents you from doing manual or quick save? At least that is how it has been for me since release. Or is there some actual bug related to this feature?

Well, as a witcher Geralt might know what monsters are affected by salt.

So which cult was following and burning mages in Novigrad?
Eternal Fire?

Eternal Fire is preaching against things of "unnatural" state (magic, elves...), but church itself didn't do burnings. It's witch hunters that operate under orders and permission from King Radovid.

Yeah there is, but this is constant it won't stop saying the message and it is defintley a bug that seems to only be existent on the X1 after googling about.

I'm failing all the Gwent specific missions. They are always red for me in the quest log. The only Gwent game I won was the first tutorial one.

Makes me way too mad.

You can go to Skellige and come back I think.

Lol, youdontsay.gif

Of course you can travel back and forth between the regions. I have no interest in rushing through the game though. I'd rather wait with going to Skellige until I'm done in Novigrad and Velen (and by done I mean done with all the quests around my level; I know that there are high-level quests in Novigrad and Velen that you're supposed to do after Skellige).

Damn, this game just keeps on going and going (minor late-game spoilers):
I thought the "Final Preparations" quest was the last one before the endgame, but then you get "Battle Preparations" as well on Skellige, lulz

Not liking this new patch on PS4 all that much..quest marker is 300steps away so I run there..Screen blurs and freezes for 1-2 seconds 3 times on the way..Going through menus and selecting items the screen flashes black every now and then (Just cleared out 25-30 items, went black 6 times.).

Doubt that has anything to do with the patch.

?

Played for several hours yesterday and this never happened to me. Also on PS4. Sounds more like you have an issue with your console.

Is this game ever going to end? I reached what they told me was a "point of no return" I guess but i've still been going for like another 5-6 hours.

Wandering through the forest, I came upon a pack of wolves. Dispatched them quickly with some Igni and bomb work. As I look around, suddenly I see an eerie shape lumbering in the distance... A random leshen wandering around the woods, creepy as fuck.

Dispatched of him quickly, but still, so cool just seeing that thing tread around the woods.

Almost level 31, then I'm gonna hunt for the mastercrafted bear gear and get around to finishing these final story missions. The end is close, I can almost taste it.

I think that was more of a "this place might be challenging for you and there won't be a way back so make a save if you get stuck" warning.

This is happening to me as well after the patch.

The screen will pause and blur for about 3-5 seconds.

Bah new patch and a new batch of issues. Can't continually combine mutagens anymore thanks to these changes so now I've got a million blue green and red mutagens that it won't let me combine into greater mutagens.

Thanks. I assume there is no penalty to leave kaer morhen and go quest for a bit and then come back?

How do you combine mutagens? Just in the menu or at a vendor?

So after 100+ hours of playing this my console just happens to shit itself immediately after a patch?

It's the same blur that happens if you're skipping through conversations too fast. Happened mostly in Novigrad.

Mine's nowhere near that long thankfully.

In the alchemy menu.

Yeah, I was in Novigrad all night yesterday and didn't have any such issues, is all my saying. If I get some playtime in tonight I'll be sure to keep an eye out for performance issues though.

Framerate is fine, it could also have been because I had a brawler quest open at the time..might have been loading the groups of fighting NPCs in/out as I moved around?

One of the treasure hunt quests in the starting area, I've found the treasure, I have the key, but I can't unlock the chest. The quest is called Temerian Valuables.

Is it bugged?

CDPR must have some really great tools to produce so much content for this game, most of it good quality as well. The presentation of the NPC conversations in particular is incredible for a game of this scope (take notes Bethesda); the amount of animation and VO is staggering.

Lol got a chest piece called Eternal Fire Executioner's Armor or something, I can't walk around in that with Geralt even though it has some good stats/relic and doesn't look half bad. It just feels wrong.

I'm playing the game on the Broken Bones difficulty, about 3 or 4 missions away from finishing the main story. I've done nearly all side quests I could find and being on level 24, have 2 or 3 contracts that require me to be level 30+. Has anyone got any advice for levelling up? At this rate, I don't how I'm going to hit level 35 for the achievement! Or also the final mutagen slot.

I've seen the troll farm tip on Skellige but at level 24, it will be a difficult fight each time.

The Steam equivalent of the drunk friend who keeps offering to pay your tab all night.
this whole sidequest (sidequest!) with helping Chran's kids and the whole new king stuff is amazing...its a sidequest for crying out loud!

Never have I seen such a blatant example of not skipping side content in a game. I mean sure the PoIs are whatever, but the actual quests, man

also, the sidequest with the Mute Druid,
what a fucking dick move lol. I loved his reaciton "for fuck sake leave me alone!" hahaha
