If you've got the gold and the patience, you can buy 13xp for 30G by taking out and repaying loans at Vivaldi's Bank over and over.

Every time I'm about to start playing this game I read about some new shit that's wrong. I'm getting impatient, I think I'm gonna just start and deal with it.
So what exactly is known to be wrong with the game since the new patch? Anything that should prevent me from playing?

I've had some stuttering and the blur mentioned above since the patch but only after a couple hours play. Also audio out of sync once the stuttering started.
I wouldnt worry about it at all. Truth is, no matter how much the game gets patch theres always going to be people having issues. Thats the nature of hugely ambitous games like this.

I really wouldn't take what you read here as reason not the start the game. Really. So many configurations of peoples systems does not make everyones experience the same. I am sure you will be fine - I have played over 100 hours and having a great time. You are only doing yourself a disservice by not playing now.
Nothing that breaks the game, but does make some things inconvenient.
Alchemy will not make more than 1 copy of any certain thing as long as it's in your inventory. Working as intended for potions/decoctions/bombs/oils, but you kinda want to make multiple mutagens and crafted alchemy ingredients, and that can become an annoying process of dropping something on the ground to craft another copy
Also apparently, you need to re-equip your mutagens every time you load a save to properly get their buffs

Personally, I've not experienced anything game breaking. I've had the game crash once and that was shortly after release. The game runs great on my PC and I think it looks great even though I've had to lower some settings. I've not put as many hours into it as some people (played 26 hours) so maybe there are some issues with quests or something further into the story but like I said...nothing crazy enough that I thought I best hold off playing.
I have the audio out-of-sync thing. I'm almost thinking of reinstalling the game to see if it makes any difference.
I'm encountering so many bugs that I think I'm going to stop playing, the experience is just not fun at the moment.

Have you waited? It does it on mine as well. Is it when you fast travel or run into a large area? After a few seconds it should be back.
Would getting an SSD for my PS4 drastically improve things like NPCs and music loading in after a fast travel? 'cause even when I leisurely walk into Novigrad's Hierarch Square, I have to deal with that. Sometimes I have to go to the other side of the square 'n back just to get the Armorer to appear.

Well I have the stock PS4 drive and the pop in wasn't this bad before the new patch.

You can easily do the green quests, even when they are a few levels higher than you. The red ones would be tougher, but not impossible.
Yeah just the darker red are basically impossible.

Yeah did all that. It's everywhere, some effects in cutscenes as well. Doing a new install to see if that works now.
Absolutely not true in my case.
Personally I'm glad I don't pay much attention to bugs and enjoy the game as it is which is still the one of the best rpgs of all time.
XP bug didn't hold me back from playing it and lo and behold it doesn't make that much of a difference, I'm still overleveled for the majority of quests. To refrain myself a fucking week from playing because of that? HAH.
That's a relief. I was sort of worried it would either affect my leveling or what the level of equipment I obtain negatively. Thanks.

Anyone else have the quest marker dissapear for the mini map and world map after the patch (PS4)?

i had some stuttering last session on the title screen. that's new. also a skellige quest where you enter a cave with 3 dudes had stutter at the intro part. i'm not happy with the last patch.
The mini map goes black a lot for me.

Okay I just started and am completely swamped by the scale. Just got assigned a job by the Emperor, and reached the second area.
Where can I;
1) Get some decent armour/weapons
2) Access the barber service from the DLC.
Want to customise Geralt at least a little.
Also, I appreciate the fact you can get your ass kicked easily by wandering too far, but it's weird they try to sell Geralt as some super strong supernatural guy when he can get the shit kicked out of him by drunken bandits.

I hope the NG+ rumors are true. As much as i love the game one thing that bothers me is that you only get some of the fun gear and skills when the game is pretty much over. This would add a lot of value to a second playthrough.

In my game, the phantom contract started as I was doing a main quest, just randomly walking around. I'm not sure if this is intentional though.

probably some slave who shared his bed, human sacrifices were a thing in viking funerals so they could continue serving in the afterlife.

I got phantom during the main quest at kaer trolde, IIRC Mad Lugos asked me to investigate. I also found it on the notice board and am doing the quest at the moment.

Seems that
Skellige tradition says the wife or lover of someone dead (or perhaps just a king) should get in the boat with him during that viking funeral. Probably something like escorting him to the kingdom of the dead. Dunno. Anyway, that's tradition, but apparently his wife didn't want to do that. You learn a bit more about her in the coming scenes and it seems she kind of shuns those traditions. So the woman with him was probably another lover
Maybe, but the last patch was supposed to have fixed that issue. Is it possible that you had talked to him earlier and there's a quest for him that you have to progress to get more dialogue?

I got the ! stuck there aswell. And I also can't seem to get arachas and troll mutagens despite killing many of them. And collecting all gwent cards seem to be bugged, still missing a ballista.
I was thinking it was the voiceless dude, so no idea lol. Speaking of OCD why are there bandit camps and hidden treasures not getting marked as complete. Making sure I loot and kill everything and the marker still won't turn grey.No idea, maybe. I did the quests for Gremist, "healed" the voiceless guy etc no problem.
