Just get respec potions and experiment. All the signs are viable, it's just down to which you prefer. Some prefer mind-controlling enemies with Axii, others enjoy slamming the whole enemy gang into the ground with Aard, while I like just spamming Quen and dodging.

There's an odds and ends type merchant in the rich quarter of Novigrad who has respec potions, and also the druids on Skellige. I have 7 of them myself and have used 3, so they're plentiful and you can freely experiment with assigning points and creating a build you like.

I went with Triss. I can't stand Yen, though plenty of people love her. If it makes it any easier, New Game Plus is heavily rumored and hinted to be on its way. So go with one this time around and the other in New Game+

The other witchers, even Vesemir, teases a bit Geralt in the game about it, they aren't very sure of what he sees in her.

Yen is basically canon in the books.
I wouldn't mind picking Yen if not for 'Geralt's unexplained devotion' towards Yen early in the game. Players who don't read the books won't know what the hell is going on and why Triss isn't around at the start.

In fact, I felt like I was under a spell or something and couldn't control Geralt whenever he interacts with Yen. That's why when the game gave me the opportunity to break the spell, I literally just went with it.

gave away the keys to the kingdom.
I see Dirty Funds is still broken despite CDPR saying it's working on a fix three weeks ago now (there's been no update since). I don't have the letter (I may have accidentally sold it, however I double-checked that I'd read everything, so the quest should have updated regardless):

I have the PC version, but unless I've missed a development, there's no console command that allows players to flag quests as solved a la Skyrim.

I've been mostly doing the side-quests and just finished the bears at the feast election sabotage, ending was uber-anticlimatic. The Werewolf Bandit side quest was OK, but also anti-climatic. I've just finished the main quest where you use the mask with Yennifer. I personally can't stand Yennifer and would much rather Triss.

I'm with you, can't stand Yennefer, and much worse is that Gerald is such a douche when she is around. He never criticizes anything Yennefer does. So annoying!

Signs wreck shit.
I was mostly signs+some melee speccing, namely fast attack.
Igni+Quen, and you can take on the world. Yrden can be handy too.

wut, there are people who believe this? The game just looks better and better as they improve performance, IMO. 1.05 really smoothed out the jerky camera movement for me, which was a huge boost in the overall impression of the game.

Yes there are... and a lot of them actually... I couldnt stand it really so I decided to just put some evidence out there...

I am sure they are not going to believe it though... the whole downgrade thing is pretty much imprinted in their minds.

Choices and outcomes, the whole beauty of an rpg. Not experiencing the other side well to me it's equivalent to not experiencing half the game. Everybody wants to hit the 'right way' of doing things in one go when obviously there never was such a thing.

In my case rejecting Triss, although not without some bad feelings, made me realize I would've missed some beautiful setpieces with Yen if choosing otherwise and I'm sure it's the same with girls reversed.

Those DLCs are funny btw.
I dunno why they never added diagrams to upgrade those pieces.
Instead the Nilfgaardian set is a Level 10 Medium Set...which is outdated since people have played beyond that level range by now.

Really hate people calling Yennefer bitch and such. Sure she can be arrogant and abrasive and lacks patience with others.She is not perfect. But she loves Geralt and Ciri more than anyone and can be warm and loving when needed. She is also total bad ass who went through hell, both in her childhood and adulthood. I have read the saga (three times) and choosing anyone but her feels completely wrong. Not to mention dialogues with her are so much fun. The pun wordfight for example.

I like Triss too of course, she is nicer on the surface, but she can also be quite manipulative.

I have my first game breaking bug an XB1 - does anyone know of a workaround?

Skellige side quest spoiler:

The Coronation quest doesn´t work. Whenever Cerys says "lets gather the Jarls" I get a neverending black loading screen.
I tried solving the quest before in different ways, kicking Arnvald from his horse, fight for him on the beach or let him get killed searching his room - its always the same result.

Help! :´-(

Level 12 and she is destroying me. Got her down to just below half health but 0 margin for error. Don't think I have the patience to kill her at the moment. (Been at it for an hour) I think I'll come back at a higher level.

Playing on Blood and Broken Bones.

There's at least one more godling to meet, but admittedly she's not quite as good as Johnny. Godlings, trolls and halflings are the best races.

i get the griffin armor being about signs
i get the feline armor being about high samina anfd flurry o attacks
but the ursine one?tried it one time and got my ass kicked by fodder...

Feline Armor is Lethos gear so that makes it automatically the best

also, lol at the Shock Therapy quest. i remember someone else mentioning a druid with a seemingly available quest that never triggers, he just repeats "witcher" over and over again. anyone know what that quest is supposed to be?

(The list shown last time I asked was from GameFAQs forums and I know it doesn't have all of them cause I've missed some not on there) I'm about to jump down the well in Nameless and I hear that is a point of no return on Act 1 quests as you're committed to finishing the act once down the well and many Act 1 quests cease in Act 2.

I bloody hate this, I want to get further in the story and not lose content. Why can't most side quests just be done post game? I get that many tie into the current events of the plot but... fuck.

I have a question, and I'd like to see what other people think in terms of the consequences of this choice. It's about Johnny and (Novigrad quest spoilers)
Sarah. In the haunted house quest I didn't evict Sarah, and seeing her living happily with the dreamer chick made me feel quite good about the decision. But I always assumed I would play the godling matchmaker (particularly since Geralt specifically points out that there aren't many of them left) down the track. Is it true that the only way to get Johnny and Sarah together is to boot her out of the house? If so, i think I've down their entire species a disservice :(

This is my first Witcher game so maybe I have the backstory wrong or mixed up, but I find it very hard to get over the fact that Triss used Geralt's amnesia in such a cynical way for her own personal advantage. It's unforgivable really.

So after >100 hours into the game I restarted because I couldn't fucking deal with Yennefer. I cannot choose her.

anyways with enough intensity signs are very strong, I decided to spec for igni and aard but not take the damage on aard as that's not really what I use it for. I basically just use aard on little dudes and igni on big dudes or dudes that don't want to get rekt by aard.

First time I tried signs I thought speccing into quen would be useful but I havent found that to be the case.

You need to use Yrden

You'll do 'normal' damage when she's in the circle.

anyway..the loot in this game is useless as long as you keep your witcher gear updated...even tackling red skull quests you still get gear that doesn't compare to the griffin/feline/ursine stats
