Just finished the game and i am ... Uh... Confused...

ok so Ciri saved everyone but died because it seems i did not visit the emperor when i should. But that is not what is bothering me.

What is, is that according to guides and since i clearly romanced yennefer and did not touch Triss, my Geralt is forever alone and i got the ciri medallion scene? Guides imply that even if Ciri dies Geralt csn ride off with his romance...

Wtf is up with that? Can someone enlighten me?
Ciri died because you made too many negative decisions during the game (=you were overprotective father), not because you didn't visit the emperor. If Ciri dies Geralt loses his will to live and dies as well (and I'd guess Yen also commits suicide if Ciri dies).

Anyone else find Priscilla really off?

She is supposed to be the love of Dandelions life, but she is rough as fuck (i get that he is attracted to her mind, but still...). She has a really weird chin with obvious veins, and is just generally unattractive, not at all what I was expecting. Her face is so weird it is strange having any conversations with her.

Are we playing the same game?

There's not a single other person in this thread that can honestly agree with your post.

Rough as fuck?

Really weird chin?

What the hell?

Whatever system you're playing on is malfunctioning.

Stop looking at her in Witcher Sense mode.

Is there any reason for me to keep my Viper level 1 witcher swords around? I have kept my other witcher gear around bc of the upgrades but can those be enhanced later?

So how do we get back to Kaer Morhen again? There isn't any fast travel points back there. Or do I need to progress the main questlines?

I just got the
Full Crew Trophy for getting all possible allies to battle the Hunt
in Skellige, how far am I into the game at this point?

I see thanks. Well i have a save right before
going to the isle of mists to find ciri, so i guess i am good to go for a best ending scenario right?

went back and got a different ending. I much prefer the ending where
Ciri becomes a witcher. Its much more upbeat and happy. Even though they still split up. The empress ending which I originally got was a downer.

I'm getting Batman on Tuesday and my wife is out of town so I pulled a few marathon sessions to wrap this up, just finished it. God damn, what a game. I don't think there was a single character who wasn't interesting and entertaining, and the sense of place is just incredible. I love how at any time you can visit characters where they hang out, and they all have stuff going on that doesn't involve you. We've been getting the "living, breathing world" marketing spiel for years now but this is the first thing that's actually made it feel real.

I was worried about the ending, I'd read and heard a few people say they weren't satisfied with theirs because of the decisions they'd made but I'm happy with how things turned out.
Ciri at first seemed to sacrifice herself to stop the White Frost, and Geralt told the emperor she was dead, but it turned out she was still alive. Geralt and her went out witching for awhile and then she set off on her own while Geralt left to live with Yen isolated from the politics and drama.

Nilgaard conquered some areas since Phillipa killed Radovid, but Termeria is independent. Not really sure what that means TBH, is Temeria a section of Velen? Or is Velen a part of Temeria? Not really got a good feel for the boundaries of different areas, but the way it was worded made it seem like it was a happy ending.

Like I said before, the characters in this game are great. Got legitimately bothered when the Baron hung himself (that whole plot was incredible) and it sucked seeing a few other characters go as well, especially Djikstra. He was a shifty asshole, but he seemed to have a code and his dialogue was great. It was a bummer to kill him.

Can't wait to go see what the other potential endings are. I got the first two games during the Steam sale, I'm planning on building a PC in a couple months and those will be the first games I play. Actually can't wait to play through this game again too, probably not for a year or so but I'm sure I'll play through the whole thing again at some point.

in regards to this post

After just finishing, do we find out what happens to the crone that escaped with Vesemirs medallion?

Does that mean that
Ciri is always the one to do that fight?

I was hoping on my second playthrough to have Ciri fuck up Imlerith

I can't tell if a quest is bugged out for me, or if I'm just missing something incredibly obvious. In "King's Gambit", I'm at the part where
Cerys and I are in the burning cellar. The quest objective is simply to "flee from the burning cellar", so I did. I went through the cave tunnel, past the place of power, and into a storage room that dead-ends at a locked door. Cerys doesn't follow me; she's just hanging out in the burning room. There's an aard symbol over the doorway leading out of the burning room, so I'm guessing I was supposed to blast open the door? But there was nothing there. I reloaded and there was never anything blocking that passage. I tried aarding the doorway, but that didn't trigger anything.
Is there something else I'm supposed to be doing? I googled this part of the quest, but there's hardly any hits for it, so I feel like it's more likely that I'm being stupid than that I got some unique bug.

Edit: It was glitched. Luckily, I had a save from before I started the quest, so I fast travelled to a different region, returned to Skellige, then re-did the quest, and it worked.

Even the main armor? Because I noticed that a few of the glovesboots look the same sometimes.... but I figured the body armor was always different.

Some bear armor shots (ignore the griffin gloves.... i used them for the sign intensity)

A few more:

Looked again, small differences on legs and chest (griffin faces on knee and more chain on arms).

Of what I've seen this is the best looking armor IMO.

"I may be inhumanely beautiful..."

Does Yennefer use magic to keep up her looks with age? I know it's not unheard among mages, but the line stuck out to me.

I'm pretty sure they all do. Book spoiler
Geralt notices that yens shoulders are lopsided which means she could have been a hunchback and used magic to make herself normal

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
Yen's history, from The World of The Witcher:

Adept's name: Yennefer

Former name: Jenny

After initial testing confirmed her magical talent, the adept was admitted to Aretuza's first class. The girl comes from a pathological family- her father abused her psychically and physically, and her mother failed to support her. This rejection and abuse were likely precipitated by the deformation of the girl's spinal column and scapula (she was a hunchback), or possibly by her mixed human-elven bloodline (she is a quarter elvish, and her mother a half blood).

It was undoubtedly the lingering effects of these traumatic childhood experiences that drove her to attempt suicide soon after admission to our academy. The girl tried to cut open her forearm veins and ended up inflicting serious tendon damage (healer documentation attached for reference).

Despite the above, the adept was personally recommended and very highly graded by the Chancellor of our Academy, Archmistress Tissaia de Vries. Her deformities and tendon trauma were corrected with the use of higher magic during her first year, and her further education has fully vindicated the Chancellor's high opinion.

Adept Yennefer is a highly talented and determined student. Her results on subsequent exams have remained excellent."
