The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt |OT2| Wanted to find Ciri, but everything Gwent wrong

Shaved sides + ponytail here, the one true geralt. I like when his beard starts coming in but shave when it fully grows.

There's actually a lot of subtle mechanics that encourage downtime, completely independant of quests. Most immediately, there's potion-use that requires meditation; then there's encumberance and durability which encourage visits to merchants and smiths; and finally there's the beard growth mechanic which requires visiting the large cities for their barbers. Altogether, it really helps break any sort of monotony the game may fall into.

Clever stuff.

Allright, too many great impressions, so little money.

Let's see... This Vita hasn't gotten any used for a while. On sale it goes.

Vita means life, and the Witcher is life. Seems like a fair trade.

Finally mopped up Family Matters did not expect it be a 7+ hour quest line, I done some Novigrad stuff inbetween not even gone to Viking islands yet. Im on holiday next week so I have no chance to finish this by end even though I already got a hankering to restart on death march already and change some choices I made during Family Matters

The voice actor for
Morkvarg
was awesome. Made him really terrifying.

I really liked that quest, it fit right in with Skellige's scandinavian flavor.

Obviously I asked Morkvarg where his treasure was before chopping him up. Dude a a total psycho

The reactivity of some of the dialogue here really reminds me of Alpha Protocol. If you visited an area before another in AP people would acknowledge it and the dialogue would adjust and respond to your actions in that area. It creates the illusion that you are making a real influence on the world and nothing exists in a bubble.

The same thing is here especially since you can tackle Novigrad, Skellige, and Velen out of order. Geralt will say different things based on what he's discovered up to that point. Or even if you take a long time to meet up with someone they'll react too. These little touches are nice and not something they necessarily needed to do.

Yen complemented my beard :)

there is so much voice acting in this game. crazy, and they barely ever go to the level of TES where 2 actor voice everyone with same repeating line... background NPCs have loads of lines, no arrow to the knee here.

Without realizing I was advancing it that far, apparently I'm already supposed to go to Novigrad
(Oxenfort)
after having just stepped foot in Velen essentially. I haven't really done any side quests, so I'm worried that I advanced the story to a point where some might be cancelled out. I'm probably just being paranoid, but wanted to confirm.

Just don't go to skellige....whatever you do don't advance into that quest and you'll be able to roam velen and novigrad freely

End of Bloody Baron/Family Matters quest:
Imo, a slightly underwhelming ending, but what sticks out to me the most is that Geralt did all this, an ENORMOUS amount of work, all to find out that Ciri went in the general direction of Novigrad, which he probably would've figured out on his own anyway. Welp.
iIhaven't even finished that quest yet I'm deep in a mission for Ciri in Novigrad
I should probably finish it lol

There is a big clue that he gains from that section that pays off later on.

Fuck the Warewolves is all I got to say, can't kill the damn things.

Really? Aside from like wolves and bears, I thought they were pretty much the easiest enemy (not even exaggerating; even easier than, say, water hags or rotfiends). After you dodge them you can get sooooo many fast attacks in.

Ah okay, that's good to hear. I look forward to finding out.

Actually I went Skellige while having yet to finish Novigrad. Nothing's cancelled and I can travel freely forth and back.

Wow, I did all that I could minus the Gwent stuff and the skull/stuff 20+ levels higher than me before leaving. Glad I did first first monster nest is a fricken level 19 siren :/

Early on, yeah, since every gold helps in the early levels and you want to have a decent amount of crafting materials available. After a while you learn you can be pretty selective about it. Most of the interesting/valuable loot will be in treasure chests and not in bags or barrels so when money is no longer an issue you can start to ignore everything but chests.

It's like, sure you could check the cabinet in every hut in every piece of shit village in the middle of a swamp to take the poor old owner's only pipe and turn it into timber for crafting but after a while if you can get over the OCD loot everything mode you may actually find it more enjoyable.

Oh, I killed a bandit. Wonder what he has on him? Probably a shitty sword and a ham sandwich. But hey, free sandwich.

Yeah definitely agree about the OCD part.

dodge left , igni, dancing star and keep your combo to 2/3 hits before dodge. They pretty easy compared to Alghouls and others.

All other enemies in the game I have approached so far have been pretty easy.

The Warewolves regenerating of health is the annoying bit. Might need to get some dancing stars then as I haven't got any.

So quick question, Related to triss and yen

Does having sex on the unicorn stop you from winning triss? it count against you at all? I hear yes and no. I rather have a definite answer

Your avatar reminds me that
that scene from the trailer never happened the scene is different and the one from the trailer is the generic copy/paste scene from other women

I CANT WHEN GAF SAYS ONE THING AND THEN THE OTHER SAYING IT DOESNT MATTER?!
Think how these things play out in reality. You really shouldn't commit to multiple women and neither should Geralt.
Act 1 (first visits to Velen, Novigrad, Skellige) is about 60% of the game. Acts 2 and 3 are faster moving and have more big setpiece moments.
Still far from a end stretch when he just arrived in Skellige.

this game man
Saw a guy tied up by the river and helped him out.... later in the game showed up

let's just say it has consequences :(

that's not even a mission

Helping out Dandelion and a certain victim:
classic gothic horror detective story, complete with the person helping being the killer and a vampire to boot - in agreement with the church no less. It wasn't a difficult fight seeing as I was level 17, but great story.

STILL DOESNT answer the question considering gaf says the choice doesnt matter while reality and common sense says it does.. I just want a definite answer instead of a lecture kay?
