Novigrad city quest spoilers beyond:

Does anyone know exactly how all the gang/Roche/Dandelion hunt quests stack? I was making headway with Sigi, which got me to the Get Junior quest, which split off separately from the Gangs of Novigrad quest. Then I got a tip about Roche from Sigi and went to check it out, but once he introduces you to Radovid, Gangs of Novigrad fails. Am I going to have to end up failing at least one of these quests, or is there a way to approach them that lets me see what everyone is up to?

One either helps the Cleaver though to completion with Whoreson, or do something that sets in motion an inevitable confrontation betweem Geralt and him sans Cleaver's henchmen/assistance/whatever. That's how I understand it.

It makes sense why the quest fails from that perspective.

Just figured something out, I don't think it's been mentioned here.

If your holding L2/LT to block, you can press left or right on the Dpad to quickly select your signs.

No more slow down menus... YAY!!

It was mentioned a day or so after it came out.
Good tip though.

Or you can just swipe on the DS4 touchpad to switch signs (only on PC).

Currently polling second in Australia's federal election (first in the Gold Coast), this feral may one day be your Bogan King.
From the sounds of things they had enough on their plate making 3 without having to put in a bunch of variables from a previous game.

Pretty much. It's also a bit of a theme with the games that, unlike Mass Effect which places you at the centre of the universe, much is beyond Geralt's control and influence even if he thinks he's made an impact. So even when it hand waves some your decisions it doesn't feel like a big deal.

Can anyone running a light armor build (cat school abilities) and who is in late game tell me what their Stamina Regen is? You can check this on the Character/Inventory screen by pressing R2/Right Trigger.

you infiltrated junior's arena and casino on your own correct? Cause all the clever 'gangs' mission is, is an alternative way into those places where you just go with the dwarfs and kill everyone in the casino and arena. So it makes sense it failed because you now know he's not in those places when you meet radovid.

Done with the story. Started off on Death March, but wanted to see the conclusion of the story ASAP without resorting to the interwebs, so I dropped down to normal. I'll return to the Death March save and use it for my completionist habbits.

Lost Lambert in the battle, moved in with Yen, Ciri became a Witcher, Radovid took over.

Time to try and write a Steam review, methinks.

Anyone experienced not learning the formulas you find? I just bought a bunch of forumlas including the Enhanced Northern Wind one. The text popped up that I learned it but it's not there in my Alchemy tab, only the regular Northern Wind which I already know.

question about place of power in Velen:

ELVEN RUINS - YRDEN

This place of Power is below the earth, at the Elven Ruins near Lake Wyndamer, north of the Byways. You will be unable to reach the place until you have progressed through the Main Story to the Wandering in the Dark quest, Once completed, begin the Magic Lamp Side Quest to solve the mystery of the ruins and gain access below.

I've already done both quests, and I've never seen a way to get to this one.

More than the lack of variables I'd say the actual problem is that TW3 has created a "best" Witcher 2 path of decisions. There is no reason to choose anything that ends up in the death of a character since it simply means less content in TW3 rather than different content.

Still, it's a neat extra, especially
the Letho sidequest, even if his master plan doesn't quite seem to make much sense

I was on my way to do that House of Reardon quest, I decided to take a path along the southern road since it's near a village that has a notice board I haven't checked out yet.

Since I was sufficiently leveled up after clearing that Wandering in the Dark / The Magic Lamp quest that immediately followed it,

I ran into this

Novigrad Dandelion sidequest spoiler:

Was the priest dude the real perpetrator? When you told him about earlier victims and the things he used, he acted like he didn't know what you were talking about. Made it seem like this was something different. But maybe that was just an act.

Been playing for around 50 hours on ps4, decided to go back and get on with story. After the
flaming barn
rescue, my game is stuck in an infinite loading screen and the ps4 sounds like it's having a hard time (fans really kick in). Reload checkpoint and same results.

Known issue or any advice?

Alright, Gaf.

What the fuck is with these controls? Hands down some of, if not the worst walking controls I've ever experienced; and okay, it improves with combat, but man, still so much left to be desired. I just... This got so many 10s, right? And sure, it does the other stuff excellently (I'm greatly enjoying the presentation), but as a reviewer, when your first impression of PLAYING the game should be one of, "that is pretty mechanically putrid", how do you not score accordingly, or at least mention it?

I'm sorry. I just find this really annoying. It's like people don't care about how a game plays anymore. It's all about the expanse of the land and the richness of the lore and whatnot.

Anyway, like I said, I'm enjoying the other aspects, so I'll push on in hope.

Yen says she might be dead, but I didn't see anything specific. I cleansed the isle, and refused to sleep with her/spend the night with her on my return from collecting her "ingredients."

was just curious if keira not being at the battle is why Lambert died. Seems so.

STILL DOESNT answer the question considering gaf says the choice doesnt matter while reality and common sense says it does.. I just want a definite answer instead of a lecture kay?
How about don't sleep with another person if you are trying to be with one person? I think that is pretty clear.

They need to let you redo failed quests.

Ehh I feel like they serve as a good consequence for taking certain actions. At it allows the quest lines to progress as the story continues.

They could do a better job of informing you that something will fail though.

Such a long post and you didn't even actually tell us what your issue with the walking controls is. Smh

I hate it that the game litterally doesnt give yen a chance to the new players. Its all about triss

now Im stuck with her.... Altho I did unicorn yen

Btw, do crones make an appearence after the baron quest? Or was that all?

you do not have to plough her. Just have dinner and not be too confrontational with dialogue choices

I was so dedicated to Yen that I didn't fancy doing anything that'd be considered out of line - Even if the game wouldn't have picked up on it (and it wouldn't have).

As I recall people mentioning
if Ciri dies in your ending, Geralt goes after the Crones, and dies after killing the last one
...so maybe they show up again?

Well congratulations! You got yourself caught!

We all bitched about it the first day we played too. You'll condition to it over time, to the point you don't think about it, but its awkward at first yes.
