We have the best female field hockey team in the world. The male team is also very good but hasn't won the gold in the past three summer olympics.

The fact that they land their jumps more than 50% of the time helps a lot.

I watch the slopstyle and I was very unimpressed with skiers compared to snowbarders... I saw a 1420 in snow that blew me away but snothing similar in ski or remotly close to being as impressive

I think that the backwards tricks compensate for that. Though I do think that snowboarding is inherently more difficult.
