Our Norwegian figure skater is the nation's first in 50 years and she makes it to the free skate, not bad! Shame about the early mistake. ALthough of course it says more about the sorry state of our figure skating in modern times.

Genuinely shocked Humphries/Moyse took that. Didn't think they'd be able to come back from the deficit but they pulled it off. Congrats girls!

Haven't seen any of the Bobsledding today but I'll get caught up after Canada loses to Latvia

They were the only ones in the top 3 who actually had some redeeming qualities in the sled. The Americans just stampeded their way through.

The usa fucked up that last run about as bad as one could. Hit the walls like 5 times & lucky they didn't wipe out completely.

At one point they had a huge skid that lost them quite a bit of time and that basically sealed the deal.

Now canada needs to step their game up and crush these fucking latvians

Yeah it seemed like no matter how many bumps the Americans had, they were hardly losing any time. Didn't seem possible for Humphries to make up the difference.

USA will finish the day in the lead in total medals. Norway leads in most gold medals.

today will be a bad day for the japanese female skaters, with Mao very likely failing on the triple axel, I am sure the japanese federation will be a bit upset after the placements..

Overall, I think all 6 skaters in the men's and lady's event came to sochi with WAY too much pressure from their country.

Fame comes at a price, it seems. Daisuke, Mao, Yuzuru, all very popular in their country but also with everybody's expectations on their shoulders.

Probably was unfair to Brad Jacobs this whole tourney, so major props to him and his team for making it to the end.

I remember people hitting the panic button when they were 1-2. But they won the Olympic curling trials over Martin, Howard, etc. so you know they're good. Glad they made it to the final.

Hopefully Jones is more Miami Dolphins than New England Patriots.

Oh damn, so maybe she didn't fall but just had some shaky landings. NBC had been hyping her up so I assumed she was good, but compared to the Russians, Koreans, etc. she's not even close to their level.

Don't think the Americans are favorite to medal here. Might have an outside shot. Yuna Kim is probably the overwhelming favorite to get gold.

she messed up the landing after the flip jump and fell. everything before and after that was pure perfection though. the flowers showed it, it was raining flowers. poor kid was devastated though.

In regards to the flowers....Dat home crowd doe...

And honestly I think her falling at that point is the best thing to ever happen to her. #pyeongchang
