Third end was all about seeing how many rocks they could cram into the house.

When they met in the round robin it was even worse at some point. Lemme find and take a screenshot.

Edit: Here's a fun challenge: try to guess how the fuck this happened. 4th end.

China almost gave Canada an extra point in that end.

Haha at that round robin shot. How the hell did they end up with all those rocks there?!

Much respect to Ole Einar! I used to watch him dominate the world cup events all the time many years ago and it's amazing that he's still able to pull off these kind of performances at his age.

Why isn't there a standardized bobsled for everyone. It seems unfair and not in the spirit of the olympics to use different ones.

Should all skiers and snowboarders use the same brand and the same wax? Should every speed skater use the same suit? Should every track and field athlete wear the same shoes?

There are rather strict regulations for sled specifications; the teams work hard to give themselves the greatest possible advantage within the guidelines imposed by the sport.

I think I've discovered how that 4th end in the round robin happened. Canada/China seem to be allergic to takeouts when playing each other.

The variables are much larger though. I'd rather compare it with motorsports, where we have many homologized leagues.

Okay guys,

the real women's figure skating starts now. First fave out is defending champ Yuna Kim as number 17. We're up to #14 now. Get ready to rumble.

Sure, why not? Wouldn't that be more fair for everyone who doesn't have the military working on hi tech speed suits?

Sweden-Finland: With the current lineup that Sweden has, and with so many important players gone due to injury, its going to be very hard to win against them.

Well it's not like our team has perfect roster either. Our top four centers (both Koivu's, Filppula and Barkov) are injured. Should still be good game.

Only just remembered that the men's curling match is on. And I got thrown for a little while after the GB women had red stones earlier.

Just tuned back in and saw Canada score 3. Not complaining, but how on earth did that happen?

Canada had 3 lined up and China had to either make a freeze or double peel. The freeze might've ended up conceding 3 points if Canada made a relatively easy runback, so China opted to make the double peel and give up 2. They missed the double peel, and only took one out, so Canada had an open draw for 3.

China missed their last shot in the 9th and gave Canada the easy shot to walk away with 3 points. 10-6 lead going into the 10th.

As someone who very, very rarely watches sports but is watching hockey because it's a slow day at work, I have to say - it's really hard to keep track of where the puck is.

Nice last second goal for USA.

Fuck, this curling game (SWE-GBR) is absolutely nerve-wracking...

Indeed.

I don't bother with curling outside of the olympics but here it is one of the most fun, interesting and nerve wrecking sports of them all. It does help that we have done quite good (especially on the women's side) the last couple of olympics.

Yuna Kim skates with a lot more maturity than in 2010 and she had the same quality in her jumping passes but I think she was a bit slow in the spins and the transitions, she also seems to have lost some flexibility, that last spin was weak.

but I am happy she delivered, I hope the rest of the girls skate like that.

Whoo! Canada gunning for it's 10th silver in Womens Bobsleigh. Mens and Womens Curling and Womens hockey are right on track too.

We got the Gold record last time. This time Silver! Only 7 more for the record!
