I dunno - I was watching on NBCSN and Lipinski sounded like she expected this - specifically noting Yuna did one less triple jump. Yuna's skate was clean, but the program was too safe. As Lipinski is fond of saying, you can't normally win Olympic Gold skating safe.

at least with gymnastics you are assigned a difficultly score in the beginning and then scored with execution. Don't know if it is the similar here. Doesn't help that for outsiders it is difficult to tell if execution of the jumps is great or not.

it's not Yuna's score, it's the Russian's.... the Russian girl had a great skate but nothing spectacular and got scored 0.11points lower than the world record... she bested her personal best from January by 18 points.
