Well in hockey, there are 5 players and one goalie. You can pull your goalie and allow a 6th player on the ice. Essentially giving you a power play, but it's risky as the other team can easily score. But it's almost always used as a last second desperation move, especially in games like these. Nothing really to lose, but everything to gain.

that was still an unbelievably frustrating 3 periods of hockey. The shots on goal stats mean nothing, the US was getting superior scoring opportunities the entire game, all of our shots were being fucking blocked and deflected, it was infuriating
Understood. I guess. But USA couldn't get even get possession of the puck to throw it out in the proximity of the Canada goal? Just seems like a massive failure to capitalize on anything.

It's all about the elements and not necessarily how graceful the performer is in between. This is the thing people get caught up on. Yuna is super delightful to watch on the ice, but her routine was safe, and that automatically disadvantaged her.

There's no one to blame. They were aggressive in the third but Canada's goalie played insane after she let in that 2nd goal. These teams are so evenly matched.

I'm an American who has been living in the Toronto region for about four years now on a work visa. About 5% of the people I meet are anti-American and feel the need to angrily confront me about it. About 70% are okay with Americans. The other 25% have this big brother syndrome where they feel that they constantly have to one up and prove themselves to be as good or better than their southern friend.
Just my personal experience. Overall, nice and quirky people.
