Holy crap. I'm interested now. Freaking love TWEWY.artwalknoon said:Jupiter is developing this? My interest just shot up 300%!!!
So Jupiter are acquiring 3DS knowledge before going to the big one. I aproove this work ethic. *claps*TenshiOni said:Shane Bettenhausen just tweeted that this game is supposedly made by Jupiter...otherwise known as the TWEWY developer.
Awesome game with awesome music confirmed?

Now there's a good question: original, vanilla versions of FF tracks, or arrangements? If arrangements, arrangements by whom? Ishimoto? I'd be down with that.walking fiend said:Jupiter is developing this and this is music genre? HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!

If it's anything like that, count me out. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva was way more fun. EBA and Ouendan were more fun as well.Megidolaon said:So there were people out there that actually must've liked that Ice Cream Beat game in KHBBS.
Or it could be the dress rehearsal before the big performance.weeaboo said:C'mon guys, Jupiter in this means no more TWEWY. It's sad ;_;
electroplankton said:Actually I can't see why so much disappointment; S-E has made many games relying on Final Fantasy brand, and some of them were pretty awful (Dirge of Cerberus anyone?), but some were ok if not great (Dissidia, Crystal Chronicles on DS, remakes); maybe it would have been too risky to create a new brand for a game like this, but the idea is nice in my opinion: a rhythm game which crosses a jRPG, with a unique style and some fan-service (c'mon, Tales of series lives on fan-service, and Disgaea as well), and even a parodistic attitude.
It's not bad. It's something fresh at least; The World Ends With You was fresh as well, and a great game.
Moreover, S-E on 3DS seems to have started with a completely different approach than the DS: a Kingdom Hearts title in line with Birth by Sleep, a new Rocket Slime, Chocobo Racing 3D; I'm sure we will see more during the TGS, but this THEATRHYTHM sounds good for me.
if it is indeed made by jupiter, they really need something to mess the shit up.mutsu said:Hopefully this plays well, then sells well, then we'll get a THEATRHYTHM Dragon Quest! Imagine that!
Well, trying to keep my expectations intact ... first step is to make sure this is a great game to be.
this ones not really stupid, it has rythm and theater in it, though backward, it is actually pronounceable tooWhy do they make stupid names that usually aren't even words?

I wonder if Takeharu Ishimoto will be involved in this considering he's SE's default handheld titles composer. I hope so.walking fiend said:Jupiter is developing this and this is music genre? HOLY MOTHER OF GOD!!!

to self quote myself:Aeana said:Not sure why people are suddenly so sure it'll be a good game just because of Jupiter's involvement. Seems kind of like becoming a Level-5 fan after playing DQ8. Jupiter's made a ton of junky games.
making very good rhythm games doesn't require much more than very good music and very good mechanism, and of course style. Elite Beat Agents had SO MUCH STYLE.if it is indeed made by jupiter, they really need something to mess the shit up.
TWEWY music was AWESOME, and how it controlled was AWESOME as well, if they get only these two good and considering how music genre is really dependent on these two, I think we can be sure at least it will be a good or very good game.
how much should I feel bad if I say I don't like music from that era?While I like TWEWY's music, I was thinking more of this:

You'll be able to select a title, from Final Fantasy I through Final Fantasy XIII. Each title has three stages: "field," "battle" and "event." Each of these stages has different different gameplay systems. You can also select difficulty, making the game suitable for beginners and rhythm masters alike, Square Enix says.
The game is played as a party of four characters. The main characters from the past FF games will appear in deformed style (designed by someone who worked on the Kingdom Hearts Mobile avatars), and you'll get to form a party of four from the cast.
Joining the rhythm gameplay, the game has character growth and collection aspects. When you clear a stage, your character will level up, although Square Enix did not say what getting a level up means in the context of a rhythm game. The collection aspects involve collecting music and movie scenes.
On the music front, the game will have major songs from the numbered FF games. Specific songs mentioned by Square Enix include Clash on the Big Bridge (Final Fantasy V), One Winged Angel (Final Fantasy VII), At Zanarkand (Final Fantasy X) and The Sunleth Waterscape (Final Fantasy XIII). And, of course, the main FF theme. You can hear a sample of the familiar main theme at the official site.

I doubt it. Seems more like a parody of Dissidia and thus will only include stuff from FF1-FF13. But you never know. I'd love some TWEWY stuff in a rhythm game.SykoTech said:Probably won't touch it, but I might listen to the soundtrack if it's worth it. And I hope TWEWY gets some kind of recognition here.
Diablohead said:You know, if square ported FFVII to the 3DS it would sell lots and lots, yet they keep making these weird music/rythem games on iOS...whyyyyy
No, the fact that TWEWY sold like shit means no more TWEWY.weeaboo said:C'mon guys, Jupiter in this means no more TWEWY. It's sad ;_;
