TheGamer: Target and Walmart also pulling Xbox stock

No matter what MS says the trust is gone between gamers and the current leadership

Just 4 games being straight up a lie has destroyed any credibility they had

IF they want to remotely save Xbox they have to clean house with their current regime and basically start over

Have been saying it for quite awhile but Phil has to go and take Bond with him
I think it is telling that someone can make a rumour today saying Xbox will cease it's hardware operations tomorrow, and it would sound believable. Its a bit fucked up when you closing shop( partially in xbox's case) sounds believable to a significant portion of your customers.

Can't be healthy for a buisness.

It is because if Xbox was financially independent, they whould have gone bankrupt years ago. Xbox is technically a zombie division, kept alive artificially. We all know this. So we know what is coming.

Not even gamers, MS is losing the media too

MS will throw them a bone and let them deep dive their next console (if it makes it) and all those "media" types will be

suck my dick wwe GIF

Once again, the point of competition is for the loser to go away and be replaced. Without that part there is no improvement.

It's obvious you have no idea how economy works. If there's only Sony, they set the price point for games, console pricing, release dates etc. They control it all. Because there would be no one to compete with.

No competition is horrible for EVERYONE.

Shit... Nintendo and Valve are going out of business too?

What about the Epic Games Store, surely we can count on them in these troubled times, can't we?

I didn't know valve or epic created consoles and I def wasn't aware the Sony and Nintendo compete graphically in the same space…

Oh wait…

Try again ma'am

No one is buying an Xbox to play GTAVI and MS knows that.

. At this point Xbox is more expensive than a PS5 in the USA as far as i know. (already the least bought console on the market by far)
. Sony always had marketing rights for GTA and i can't imagine them not having a PS5 + GTAVI bundle for next fall like they got for every major game like COD etc. (they even had a COD bundled with PS5 after MS bought Activision, lmao)

The game is basically a PS5 exclusive at this point.

So you got a cheaper PS5 than an Xbox Series plus GTAVI as a bundle...why is anyone buying your hardware?

On another note, the amount of people that i know that tell me they will buy a PS5 to play GTAVI is...something. Asking me for prices and stuff.
Sony is going to get a lot of de facto third party console exclusives in the near future.

GTA6 is going to launch in an environment where you probably won't be able to buy a Series S/X even if you wanted one, and it isn't going to launch on PC either. The effect that is going to have on PS5 sales will be monstrous because that is the only place you will be able to play the game. People saying everyone who wants to play GTA has already bought a console are huffing copium. GTA5 sold more units than entire gaming platforms.

Not sure if this deserves its own thread but do you think Steam is more likely / compelled to offer an entry and or entries in the retail home console space vacuum left by Xbox? If MS Gamepass is going to compete more aggressively in the PC space using Windows as leverage could Steam perceive that as a threat, despite MS poor showing on PC historically? A Steam Box or a Steam Deck 2 / Dock 2 ala Switch? Could the canceled Xbox streaming stick come back to life ? How about an Atari VCS 2 (I jest).

Steam are working on an OS that will hopefully put an end to Windows. That's a far bigger win than anything in the console space.

At this point, even if they put it out they can't sell it.

The question really is no longer will they leave the hardware space, but rather how and when.

Fortunes could change, plans could shift, stubbornness could keep them around longer than Sony or Nintendo honestly.

....but as it stands now I would be looking to diversify my platform options if I had all my eggs in Xbox. Nobody will be recommending Xbox as primary next gen and not many will be buying it. Right now I suggest a jump up to PC or sideways to Playstation at the next jumping off point.

Really? You haven't heard of the PC5? You should look it up, basically sold in most electronics shops... unlike the Xbox 🥲

Can't wait to see how the PC6 will compete head to head with Sony next gen 💪

And yet the 4 trillion dollar company put up prices for games to $80, put up its price for a console to $729, and gamepass to $30 per month. I don't think you understand the point of "competition". MS are choosing to screw people and if that means fewer customers they're the ones OK with that. Dont try and invent another boogeyman.
