That's hardly the dumbest part of the game. This is simply video game design in general. If you were worried about accuracy of the character then canon Kratos would 1-2 shot every enemy he sees.

The dialogue is fucking horrendous.

The pacing of the game is horrible. Only the last 2 missions were good.

Overall a very forgettable and experience.

I grade it C.

Games are full of this stuff, and if you spend a lot of time playing them you probably won't even notice most of it. Have a non-gamer (not just someone who doesn't regularly play videos games, but someone who ideally has never played any at all) watch you play pretty much any game and they'll constantly point shit out shit like that.

Cmon, this kind of stuff can be found in every game (history tells one thing, gameplay tells another)...
Aaah the good old "ludonarrative dissonance" that plagued the "video essays" of the early and mid 2010s. Haven't heard that in a while though.
But in this case, since the player can actually performs feats of great strengh through Kratos I'd say it's more ludo-ludo dissonace in where the developers just knew how to design combat and setpieces that sell the fantasy but didn't know how to do the same with the levels.

God of war 2018 and god of war ragnarok would be much better games if atreus never existed. He's a whiny obnoxious little shit who i couldn't stand to hear speak and he brought nothing remotely interesting to the table. Not only that but he makes kratos look like a pussy by running his mouth and kratos never grabbing this lil shit and putting him in his place.

I know, i just think this one is so dumb that it is actually funny, like a satire.
There is plenty of dumb stuff in games.

How can i fix broken limbs and 20 shots with a bandage?
You murder someone, run away and 1 minute later the guards greet you warmly
What idiot follows 20 thrown rocks in a row into a bush to get murdered?

We could easily make a top 100 of stupid things in games.

I had my fun with the game, don't see a woke fest here, but hey its just like Spider-Man 2, good game with some really stupid things sprinkled in but overall it's good.
I know it's a really like super controversial take here on GAF bit i liked it better than GoW (1)

GOW:Ragnarok is f-ng dumb but this moment is reaaly not that big a deal.

I recall the ultra dumb moment where you have to use some thing, some sort of device that gives you a hint on direction where to go, but the level design was soooooo f-ing linear i went to the door i needed to find without using this device. And you know what? That f-ing door just would not open! I came where i needed but still had to take out this device for a second in front of the door for the scripted even to trigger and let me finish this "quest".

Even this approach is common in other games too.... I always joke (e.g.) about how a lot of problems in the Lands Between could be avoided with diet rich in Preserving Boluses :-D

I enjoyed it enough to finish it, but it definitely felt like the most "Marvel movie" God of War that has existed. Honestly the most forgettable to me. Especially since by the end of the game I felt like I watched more than played.

I sort of agree.

MILD SPOILERS AHEAD

Playing God of War 2018 quite recently I was enthralled by the mystery of the game, the world, the purpose of it all (maybe Odin was a madman, but not an evil man, maybe he saw something that would make Kratos realize Odin was right, etc) and I believe there must have been a point in development where Kratos was actually just led to believe he had a kid and a wife, but the wife easily fake (the first game made a big deal to not show her face) and the kid was going to be Loki, like big-bad Loki who “poisoned” or tranced Kratos into giving him a peaceful life and controlled him and you’d found in the heartbreaking end that the kid was a fake all along. But unfortunately, I’m sure that first draft wouldn’t fly with the focus groups. Oh well.

God Of Wa.r: Ragnarok is not a bad game but it's a step down in every possible way from 2018 except perhaps graphically, presuming you're playing the PS5 version. Story, characters, setpieces, quests, collectibles, combat. None of it feels as good or as satisfying as 2018 did. Many of the challenges are unsatisfying.

When I finished 2018 at 100%, I felt as though I had accomplished something. When I finished Ragnarok at 100%, I felt as though I had navigated a gauntlet setup by a studio working on a checklist for content.

All that said, the Valhalla DLC is excellent and I played through it far beyond the trophies up to the true ending. That felt worth my time and like an accomplishment. I had a reason to reinstall the game for that DLC. Now that it's done, I can't imagine ever reinstalling Ragnarok. I long to replay the Greek era games, but I've had my fill of the Norse era and have no desire to revisit those games in a remaster.

The hardest boss is OPs suspension of belief.

Its a bloody VIDEOGAME mate. He's 100% FICTIONAL and so are the doors.

What? Do you want him to just rip and tear a straight line to Odin and eat his face, game done in 5mins?

You think that’s bad??

I’ve been playing Forza Horizon 4, and here’s a list of the most recent shit I’ve won on Wheelspins..

1 - Pair of leggings
1- Pair of Shorts
2 - Horns
1 - Pose
1 - Shirt

Why??? WHHHHHYYYYY??!!! I just want cars. 😭

I hated those wheel spins. GT7 can be stingy as fook, but at least you get either a car, car part, or money to put towards a car.

And is there a pose in the Horizon games that doesn’t make you look like a tosser?

thats one of the smallest problems this game has

The story is fucking horrible , the level design and exploration rewards are very shallow

the only praise i can give to this game is music , graphics , voice acting

No, they’re all lame.

They should have wheels and car parts available to at least alter the look of the vehicles. GT is doing it right.
