So if someone pushes me off flat earth I go to China? Is that how it works? Or is it just one big ass flat board with nothing on the other side?

Lol. There's a wall of ice at the edge.

I'm assuming these guys are climate change supporters then, because once it heats up enough, the ice will melt and prove their theory valid.

OMG...what if...what if the Republicans have been trying to show us reality all along. They know climate change is real, they're just letting it go in order to expose the biggest lie in the history of human existence! Everyone else is only trying to stop it so the truth can't come out!

Huh. Welp I'm gonna be a flat earther for Halloween.

This is a great idea. I can make my own tinfoil hat, but if anyone gets a groupon for shoes that are also turtles, please message me.

If there are so many of them why dont they charter a plane and fly to the edge?
They could livestream it or something.

His wife, Cami, shares his views. “Our YouTube channel gets people to critically think,” she said to the Fort Collins group. “The heliocentric model says that we’re spinning at 1,038 mph. They say you won’t notice it because it’s a continual motion. But you should be able to feel it. You shouldn’t be able to function allegedly spinning that fast.”

Why? See, this is the worst part about discussing stuff with people like this. They claim things as a false foundation (can jet fuel melt steel beams?) which you most of the time can't refute just from your memory, or they won't accept your sources. And build on that.

I'd love to go to one of these meetings and propose a naval expedition to find the truth. See how many takers I get. Lol

They've riden the Gravitron at the carnival. It's like a model of how the earth allegedly spins. When you're in it and it's spinning, you're glued to the walls and it's hard to move around. Checkmate the world doesn't spin.

We shouldn't pussyfoot around ignorant fools in this day and age. We shouldn't be trying to win their hearts and minds. We should be lambasting and publicly shaming this sort of willful ignorance. Send these mother fuckers back to the wood works from whence they came. Same deal with these bigoted evangelical zealots who believe the earth is 6,000 years old.

Smart people in this day and age are taking too much shit for granted and are resting on their laurels. Unless we really want the dark ages to reemerge, sometimes being nasty and making fun pays big dividends.

Now what's the next step in your master plan?
I mean if they really want to prove gravity is fake they're free to jump off a cliff to show me so.

Everything is density and buoyancy, bro. Things fall toward the earth because they're denser. There is no such thing as gravity.

The question, then, is why dense things sink rather than float or go north or south. What's so special about "down"?

For some this is basically anti-intellectualism dressed up as a proto religious belief system. For most it's all about belief not proof. Flat-Earthers are basically religious. It's essentially a belief that makes them feel special, important, meaningful. Even the well educated 'believe' this shit. - The Men Who Believe The Earth Is Flat

If nothing else the sheer fucking arrogance of these people is breathtaking. Mental illness is a possibility.

Yeah wonder if they just have a really deep existential crisis.

Literally cannot even be bothered with anyone who believes this shit. I've yet to encounter one but if I do I'd not even waste my words. Anyone who believes shit like that is an embrassment to humanity and a cancer to intelligence.

You have arrived at the real truth

They want attention and to be catered to. To feel special and be pandered to like children

How long before people are dumb enough to buy these guys tickets for space tourism just to make some vain attempt to convert these assholes

This is what flat earthers really want

Why wouldn't they just sell a flat model "globe".

I wonder why this has become a bigger thing lately.

There are massive factories dedicated to the production of spherical earths. Big business does not want to have to convert these to the production of less appealing flat earths.

Not to mention the deals they have with the map industry to keep the 2 entirely separate.

I can trace my lineage through stellar phenomena of awesome proportions. The grandiose works of the Universe born from nothingness to bring me to you here today are truly miraculous.

And you think you are special because we're behind an ice wall?
Thirteen point eight BILLION years of work is not enough for you to feel special?
How special do you need to be?

That's a nice perspective on it.

I feel so bad for these people. It's somewhat comforting to think that most Flat Earthers simply put their faith in the wrong people; but I can't help but wonder if the denial exhibited by those who have genuinely tried to research the topic might be symptomatic of a serious illness. It seems like some of these people really think they've gained new insight through application of the scientific method, in spite of the fact that none of their conclusions stand up to the most cursory level of scrutiny.

The internet means no matter how insane you are you will always be able to find at least one person who agrees with you.

And when there's dozens of you? You have a new belief system.

"I can't prove the globe anymore."

No you just can't find anymore evidense these dense mofos wont bullshit their way around. It's okay, you tried, don't get lost in the hole they've dug.

"Flat Earth makes us special"

Yeah you're special alright. No debating that.

To be honest, I don't see much of a difference between people who believe the earth is flat, or 6,000 years old, or that there are anthropomorphic sky pixies, that evolution doesn't exist and humanity is somehow special.

Honestly if someone says something like jet fuel can't melt steel beams ask them how they know that. If they can give you actual melting points and burn temperatures then Just admit you don't know anything about it and either go research it or give up on that line of debate. Arguing something you're not informed about is almost as ignorant as some of the wacky stuff that people believe blindy.

I'd let them know I don't share their opinion but I'm not going to debate someone who is armed with dodgy facts if I haven't twice researched the thing itself. The majority of people in the world you can ask them why the globe is not flat and they'd laught at you 'just cause' but barely understand any of the science behind it. I think thats a sorry state of affairs that we promote sports, religion and celebrity gossip than understanding the nature of our reality. I'm not different I've not got a fooking clue but I'm not going to 'debate' anyones beliefs anytime soon.

Literally no sane person panders to flat Earthers. They are treated like the imbeciles they are. They are ridiculed, mocked and laughed at but ultimately they are ignored.

I can trace my lineage through stellar phenomena of awesome proportions. The grandiose works of the Universe born from nothingness to bring me to you here today are truly miraculous.

I was spawned deep beneath the Pre-Cambrian sea,
the scion of a far distant sun...
I have traversed the endless stars,
and journeyed to a myriad galaxies...
The dimensional gates of the multiverse
are mine to voyage effortlessly beyond,
Cosmic infinity is naught to one such as I...
I am as one with celestial eternity...
Clad in gleaming pentlandite armour,
on a whim I may reshape entire worlds,
Or extinguish the blazing light of a sun...
and I remain forever enchanted by sylphs...

I have seen demons lick your ivory hands,
And watched you ride naked upon the backs of fire-dragons...
Your eyes sparkle clear as hoar-frost,
And yet they are thrice as devoid of warmth.

Wielding this power cosmic, the omniverse is mine to conquer!
Our progency shall rule the very cosmos itself!

Arcane power lances from my fingertips,
Life withers before my baleful gaze.
The proud citadels of great antediluvian empires
Have been razed to the ground by my zircon blade.

Your invocations unleashed the great worm
Which compelled the devouring seas to Atlantis...
Riding the screaming crest of fettered lons,
I shall bring my crystalline chaos where order reigns!

Return with me... beyond the stars...
Rule with me... a thousand worlds...

The Galactic Nexus has empowered me
(I am gloriously, eternally omnipotent!)
And as a god I shall return to the Praesidium of Ys!

Fixed. As an acolyte who is familiar with your lengthier proclamations, I felt you were selling yourself short with the truncated description.

The Bible doesn't even teach that the Earth is flat. If the Bible DID teach that as a part of it's teachings, the "world controlling" Jews would be at the forefront of making sure their followers would believe in the flat earth theory as would the Christian and Muslim people as well.

OK, well get all flat-earthers to chip in for an expedition to circumnavigate the world and show everyone the giant ice wall. Burden of proof is on them, if science is lying, then by all means, please prove science wrong.

Anyone that actually feels strongly about this theory, and isn't doing this just to feel different, should do something about it. If not, then you deserve to be persecuted.

But I don't think anyone will do that. Problem is this belief doesn't persist because of evidence, it exists because of the people themselves. They can't prove anything one way or another, if they could, they wouldn't believe such nonsense. They need to feel special. They need to feel as though they see something that no one else sees.
