I do distinguish between Genesis and Collins' solo work. There are a number of Genesis track I enjoy, Land of Confusion is definitely one of them.

however, if you take an honest look at me man's solo career, almost all of it is so trite and MOR

A lot of it is time. Like Halo, I love that game but wouldn’t really expect someone that hadn’t burnt up a few Xbox’s playing it to understand lol. Or weed. Some people get paranoid, just don’t enjoy the stuff. Whereas the first time I smoked some I was like where have you been my entire life.

It’s just different tastes. Like no matter how well done they are I’m just not in to tattoos. I have no reason, really, just not my bag. My son has a few lol.

Social media like instagram/Facebook/twitter etc, fruit, one night stands, labels, calling "friends" people you barely know just to fit better in to the norms of society.

Streaming services for TV/Movies...it's just a digital Blockbuster rental store.
Streaming music. If you love music, buy an album or E.P.
People who hate anime (it's not for everyone) but love DBZ and/or Miyazaki films...which are still anime

Drakes an excellent one, its literally some of the shittest music of the last few years, and he's a got beta'd by rhi rhi hahaha
I’m more shocked that anyone’s taking that persona seriously considering we all grew up watching Degrassi

Watching what?
Drake was a child actor on a TV show called Degrassi making something like 50k an episode as he was a main character. He pretty much bought his way into a rap career and I’m not mad at him, but the persona doesn’t work for me lol.

I just saw a post on Reddit that made me think of another one. OCD cable management for PCs. People acting like one cable not tied down is going to actually affect anything.

Have You seen The Prestige ?

Ive been meaning to rewatch that one as i remember liking it. I don't hate Nolan, I enjoyed Batman Begins quite a bit. But his films really leave me cold for the most part. A Prestige rewatch is on the cards though for sure.

I see your Batman and raise you a Christopher Nolan movies, full stop. Technically proficient, lacking in heart and soul!
I'll basically sign of on this, but the batman movies stand out because Nolan's extremely self-serious style clashes with the subject matter. There's something inherently paradoxical about making an extremely serious movie about a man in a rubber bat suit who fights crime. I'd say the Dark Knight is the only really good one because it had the joker and there was something very meta about him asking "why so serioussss" in an extremely tense, somewhat dour movie. But really comic book movies work best if they take more liberties with realism, both in story and setting. I think the Burton movies will stand the test of time better in the end.

Hallelujah and amen.
The thing I liked about Batman Begins (its been ages since i saw it) is the set design was a bit more garish and over the top, whereas the two next ones were almost totally stripped of that gothic almost cartoonlike Gotham atmosphere. But you totally describe here why Nolan just hasn't generally worked for me. Self serious is fine if you can give me compelling characters with heart, and i haven't found those in alot of his movies, personally.

Yeah I was just thinking how something high-concept like Dune would have been a much more natural fit for Nolan. Maybe while we're at it we can get Villeneuve to go for Batman, I'm pretty sure he could take it in a fresh direction... you could basically just drop some future version of batman in the blade runner world and he'd fit right in there LOL

Villeneuve is a great example, to me, of someone who generally gets technical and character right. Although I agree Nolan might be able to crank out a decent Dune, I'm sure glad it's in Denis' hands and I'm psyched to see his version!

Golf. I find it so boring to either play or watch. Completely uninteresting or challenging.

David Lynch's entire body of work. Some of it is pretty good, but nothing remarkable - certainly not of a level so many people elevate it to.

Veering OT a bit but I found the Dune trailer a bit... familial? There was this odd moment where the older guy jokes with the hero that he put on some muscle and I was like 'I don't remember anyone being that familial in the book' Like I read Dune when I was pretty young and to my mind it's like this super high minded thing, I remember I had a tough time relating to the characters which made me think of Nolan

Football (American, Canadian, Soccer, whatever) its all just watching a bunch of dudes chase after a ball.
I'm conflicted on this.

I think the core soccer gameplay is immensely boring and wont even bother watching world cup unless it's background noise. And the faking is even worse. For all you soccer fans who dont understand why US and Canada dont care about soccer much, faking and diving for injuries and killing time isnt something we like in sports. But I totally get it that it's part of the game trying to get fouls and waste time for a breather.

BUT, soccer goal highlights are awesome.

Heath Ledger's Joker. I'm convinced it's because of his death.

To me, Ledger's Joker could have been any garden variety psychopath. Nothing really said Joker from his actions, only his looks. I vastly prefer Nocholson's Joker from the live actions portrayals.

I’m torn on this one because it depends on the question. Sometimes it makes sense to ask people because it’s more nuanced or complex, but sometimes it would have been much quicker and easier to Google your question and get an instant answer than it would have been to ask (or worse, post on a message board).

What can i say... Totally get where you're coming from, but still don't like it.

People generally look at Google before they come to these forums, hell that's how they find the forums in the first place, maybe they've done their best to search but can't quite put it in words... It really just comes off as someone who just sits around with one eye on a channel ready to stroke their smartass epeen..

I don't mind admins who put together "faq" posts or solution databases and quickly refers people to them (be better if they identify each solution with a reference code "look at question 1c", instead of saying "it's in here, go trawl") but yeah, those people who won't even deign to answer a question that's obviously pushed someone to seek help from live bodies really grind my gears, chap my ass..

Won't stop them popping out of the woodwork though, so meh

I appreciate it, I just don't get the hype......looks boring as fuck. Take the new film, just looks bland and pretentious. Its a weird one because I should like it, being a huge sci fi fan. Perhaps its was the lynch film that put me off, not hard , considering its a mess of a film

Have you tried the fan edit? Or the three part series? (And it and the book's sequel?) Or reeding the book?
