The sequel to end them all!

GAF XCLUXIVE!

Maybe this one will have a 49 meg save file, just to outdo the previous one's.

PS3: Upcoming Announcement & Pseudo Playability

To date, Sony has only made a couple official announcements concerning the next-generation of PlayStation but earlier today, during its conference call to discuss its third quarter earnings, it was revealed that things will soon be heating up on the PS3 front. Towards the latter half of the call, Sony revealed that it will be making a PlayStation 3-related announcement at the end of March. Surprisingly enough (or not), it seems that the PlayStation 3 will in fact be at E3 2005. From the call (and anyone that listens will notice just how fun it is to decipher what they’re saying), it seems that Sony wants the PlayStation 3 to be in some sort of “playable” form at E3 2005. The exact form of playability isn't known, but the call implied to an extent something like the way PSP was "playable" at E3 2004. Of course, nothing direct was said to that effect, so that's speculation.
So for those keeping score, it looks as though all three next-generation systems will have at least some sort of presence at E3. Check back later today for more news as it surfaces.
Wow, it will be funny if PS3 ends up being announced before Xenon.

Well, the PS2 was "playable" at E3 before they officially revealed what the console looked like. They had the GT demo running on workstations under armed guard. Maybe they'll do that with PS3 this year.

Yep, Kaz said they put that together in about 2 weeks, so they don't need much time before the event to get some demos running.

I wonder if Sony is perhaps planning on pushing up the PS3 launch date. It's striking that no next-generation console has launched significantly earlier than its competitors in the U.S. with EA support without stealing away a large chunk of marketshare, with the exception of the 3D0 (which was crippled by a batshit insane business model). The PS2 weathered a year head start for the DC, but the X-Box 2 will have EA support this fall. With the U.S. market now more important than Japan, Sony might not be able to afford giving MS a full-year head start with the Xenon.

There was also an empty glass case above the display that originally held the PS2 before SCE said "like fuck you're going to show it off in the US first!" so they had to pull it leaving the case empty.

I bet Gran Turismo is there with models ripped from the intro FMV. Anyone got a link to the GT4 intro video? I want to get a taste of what the next gen might be like. PEACE.

Armed guard?! are you serious? They would actually should a person for trying to nick a videogame? That would be a Darwin award for sure.

Some idiot stole the MGS 3 demo from a display at E3 2004. I really don't think they would shoot anyone, they are probably just there to intimidate.

The models from the photomode would work well:
