I have a ps3's Wireless HORI Fighting Stick 3 and i want to use it on pc.
Windows xp detects it correctly, but no inputs are being taken from it.
Am i missing something?

Wild guess..sorry but is it set as the default controller in the controller settings in .. control panel?

Now that you point out at it...no, i was just trying to use two joystick simultaneously (the first one i connected is a wired custom ps3 stik that works).
I'll try to connect the wireless only

EDIT:nope, it doesn't work even if it's the only one connected

[Edit: Hmm .... batteries? - also is there a sync button between the receiver and the stick?]

Might be worth trying a different USB port if you have spare..sometimes too much power is drawn with too many devices....well that's something I've experienced anyway.

Does anyone else have a problem with getting 5.1 sound with Mass Effect 1 on PC?

Using HDMI from Radeon 6870 to receiver for sound. Only getting stereo sound.

I have tried every tweak and fix I could find in the last year or so of trying to fix this, and I get perfect 5.1 sound in every other game, including ME2 & 3.

Common issue or one-off case?

No sync button (except the "PS" one), but batteries are ok and the stick works correctly on ps3.
Edit:and for the usb problem:with the 2 sticks connected, all my usb ports are ocupied, i've tried swtiching the two and XP detects them correctly, but the HORi stick keeps not working. However the power drawn issues is already excluded by testing the wireless stick alone

Sorry noes not sure...hope someone else can help but you could try deleting the drivers from the device manager and reinstalling.. make sure not to press any inputs while the driver installs (sometimes messes it up for me)

if that fails....could try this:

http://shoryuken.com/forum/index.php?threads/driver-release-hori-fighting-stick-3-on-pc.53283/

although not sure if that is for the wireless version - someone said it worked using sixaxis drivers.. - are you on 64bit OS? Can find out by right-clicking on my computer then properties iirc

Ok, what i think is probably it needs some dedicated drivers since the windows one aren't workig.Hope someone else can point out something.
Thanks a lot for you time:)

Ah, I was just having a look for some but couldn't find anything for the wireless...someone mentioned the sixaxis ones worked

no worries and sorry about that.

i always take a thumbtack and run it through all the dirt infested cracks and then just wipe it down with rubbing alcohol. not sure how well the alcohol works lol

I ended up taking the PS3 ones completely apart. Washed shell and use a wet qtip on smaller parts. Looks completely new and works fine..

Now I want to change the shell and buttons.....

Wonder if I can take apart the xbox one..

Were the Battletanx games on N64 actually good or were they just one of those mediocre games I enjoyed from my youth?

I recently replayed Global Assault and had a blast, I´m not sure if that´s just nostalgia speaking but there´s hardly anything like it today.

I got Ratchet and Clank Collection over Black Friday weekend. I thought these games were supposed to be in 1080p? It's doing 720p for me. I know my PS3 is set up for 1080p because the menu is in 1080p and so are blurays. It's also not a 3d TV.

So are the games in 1080p? And if so how do I get it do that?

Edit Nevermind, I found the solution on the insomniac boards. Have to tell the PS3 your TV doens't support 720p or 1080i in the dispaly settings. This makes me seriously doubt the game is being rendered at 1080p, but rather is just being upscaled.

Why are first-person shooters so bad at simulating natural head movement? I'm watching Far Cry 3 gameplay and stuff like picking shrooms and climbing vines looks greatly over-exaggerated, like you're playing as a bobblehead almost.

Let's say you download a free game from PS+ but don't touch it until 2 months later. If that game is no longer part of the "Instant Game Collection", can you still play it?

Yep. All that you actually need to do is 'buy' the title; from then on it'll be available in your download list. You don't even need to download the thing.

You do however still need to have an active PS+ membership at the time you want to play it.

What if you downloaded it to a memory card and your PS+ membership ran out, but you still had it on the card? Surely it would still be playable?

Is it worth it to buy a 360 at this point? I have a ps3 already and a gaming pc and I want to replace my broken 360. However I'm probably going to play halo 4. Idk if I should be worried about the longevity of this system til the new Xbox comes out.

You could send it to MS for repair and it'll only cost you $100. That's what i did. In my case they sent me a refurbished one.

Birbo, archnemesis, and mclem thanks!

What would be the the optimal video settings I would use on a new super slim 500gb PS3?

It's hooked up to a 1080P TV using HDMI but some games (Battlefield 3 and Pac-Man Championship DX) show up as sub HD (480p?) while others (PlayStation All-Stars and Black Ops 2) are fine. Both games looked fine on my older 60gb Phat PS3 before the YLOD killed it but now I cannot even read anything on screen. Thx

Why is there no Turrican Hd yet?
I need to resync my dualshock3 evrytime i startup my console. Is this a ps3 problem or a ds3 problem? Would changing the battery solve it?

I have a 3DS and Pokemon Platinum. I have no interest in playing the game but want a bunch of high level characters to battle with my nephews during the holidays. Any easy way to do this? I know I could just play the game but it's really not my thing.

Is there any way to copy the contents of my PS3's HDD to a new, larger HDD without having another PS3? 120GB just doesn't seem to be cutting it with all these games with ridiculously large installs, as well as PSN games. I want to make sure I lose nothing, kind of like how some Wii saves can't be copied from one Wii to another.

I've not let my membership expire at any point, but I *believe* that it doesn't remove the game when the duration expires, it simply does a validation check for 'is this PS3 linked to an account with a valid PS+ membership' on execution, in which case where it lies is irrelevant.

A few months ago I was watching a video of a fairly new PC game where you landed a ship on a planet, played a short FPS level, then took command of the ship and attacked bases on islands. I'd like to pick this game up, but I can't remember the name. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

Suspect you're talking about Carrier Command there. The reviews suggest it's not up to the level of the original, though.

Whats the name of that batshit insane game set in samurai period japan? Think it's on PS3, I want to buy it but forgot the name

I bought my Wii with Twilight Princess a bit after it launched. At some point I just got bored with it and never finished it, moved on, bought other games, etc. I've been meaning to plug it back in and finish some Wii stuff before I pack it up for good, so:

iirc I was in a dungeon where you fight a couple of disembodied hands when I stopped playing. How far away was I from finishing the game?

Bought Forza Horizon for 15$ when it was on sale, currently it sits sealed up.

-Is it still a fun game for people who aren't super into racing games usually?

-I heard that it is worth 30$ at Gamestop trade in; is it worth more there when sealed?

1. I don't know, but it's supposed to be more arcade-y and it reviewed extremely well.
2. I don't think so. I assume they would just open the sealed game to check it, thus it is no longer "brand new" to their eyes.
