Do the plants in Plants Vs Zombies have persistent health, or does their health regenerate when the attacker is dealt with?

Lives depend on this answer.

From playing through the campaign mode I got the impression that health was persistent. If there is any kind of regeneration then it's so slow that I couldn't notice it.

Why is the original Playstation always abbreviated as 'PSX', instead of 'PS' or 'PS1'?
PlayStation eXpansion, the original name of the PlayStation, back when it was a SNES addon. Sony and Ninty fell out and Sony did their own thing. This same fiasco is what led to the CD-i, oddly enough.

PS1 is also its own thing, the PSone, a smaller model of PlayStation that can have a screen attached to it. Those things were hot stuff.

EDIT: additionally, most consoles use their code names as prefixes. On GameCube products, the system identifier is written DOL (Dolphin) and on Wii hardware/games is written REV (Revolution).

Ok gaf I need some help please. I currently am using a 250 GB HDD in my 360 slim. It's completely full and I have a 320GB HDD next to me. I need to know how on earth I can transfer all my saves and DLC to the new HDD? I have a spare 360 if that helps, but was plan Ing on doing it the long cheap way (USB flash)

So my question is how do I do it? Do I put the 320GB in my other 360 and just move everything across slowly? I know arcade games won't work, but when I finish and swap the HDD over they will be like nothing happened yes, as they are tied to my console? Is that how to do it?

I see, thanks!

I always thought it was because we use at least 3 letters to abbreviate and the X is just added to make up the numbers, like the X in LAX (Los Angeles Airport).

It wouldn't be 'PS1' due to the console never being called PlayStation 1.

Any idea on how I can connect a regular wired xbox 360 controller to a PC? I haven't bought one yet but I'm wondering how can this work out, will I need a 3rd party tool like MotioninJoy to make it work with games?

No, Windows comes with drivers for it. It's completely plug and play. Enjoy!

Just plug and play, unless the game you're playing doesn't support gamepads then you'll need motionjoy/joy2key etc.

Is there some reason why the ''main'' FPS in games seem to be either 30 or 60? What about 40 or 50? Is there some reason why there is pretty much no game locked to those framerates (at least I don't know any).

It has to do with the refresh rate of TVs and other monitors. They are usually 60 Hz which means that with a 60 FPS game you get one image every time the TV screen updates. With a 50 FPS game you would sometimes get one new image and sometimes no new image which would give the viewer a choppy impression.

I have a gaming PC I built a while back, 2.9ghz i5, 8gb ram, AMD 7850 2gb card and up until recently I was using a monitor with the resolution of 1680x1050. Monitor shit the bed so now I am stuck with an old monitor with the resolution of 1440x900. Do you think I will be able to bump up to 1080p screen without seeing much (if any) performance differences? I haven't kept up with computer knowledge the way I used to so it is hard for me to say. I feel like I am completely wasting my 2gb gpu on such a low resolution.

re: PSX

"A larger sticking point, however, was PlayStation branding. SCEA hated the name and wanted to change it to PSX, a contraction of the project’s codename. “This was actually a huge internal battle, to the point where there was research done among consumer groups,” says Harrison, who, having seen various youth groups reacting badly to the name PlayStation, had his own fears about it. “I remember thinking, ‘Oh my God, the name is bombing and everyone is going to hate it’. I shared the information with Tokunaka-san, and he said, ‘Oh, that’s nothing, you should have heard what people said about Walkman’. And that pretty much ended the debate.” In Europe, at least: the US nevertheless went ahead with early trade promotion, calling it PSX, and had even come up with its own mascot, Polygon Man."

Does Monster Rancher DS work on 3DS despite the GBA connectivity?
Alternatively, is there a list somewhere of the DS games that don't work on 3DS?

anyone try the latest borderlands 2 dlc add-on disc *edit: for xbox360*? seems riddled with aids or some sorta wasting disease, new areas unavailable on fast travel hud, weapons and mission items inaccessible stating dlc is unavailable even though the disc installs everything to hdd. does gearbox just not do disc based dlc well or something, quite a back to back failure on their behalf counting aliens, but at least aliens worked, this doesn't work at all.

What is a good side where I can check out the gaming releases of the upcoming months? I mean even smaller titles from japanese developers that get released over here. Tho, not necessarily IOS crap or something like that. A function to disable some platforms would be cool.

Anyone an idea where to look?

I finished Alpha Protocol the other day, now should I:

-finish Fallout: New Vegas (about 2/3d through the main content if I had to guess + all the DLC)

-start Witcher 2

-start Dark Souls

-finish Skyrim (probably 2/5th the way through)

I leave it in your capable hands.

Start Dark Souls, play it a ton. Then start Witcher 2

Let the dice decide. (I'd finish New Vegas. It's complete, so you can uninstall it after you're done.)

In Super Metroid, can I get underneath the room with the jumping bird? I can see a corridor down there on my map but not sure if I access it from here or not.

You can't access it from that corridor. To get there
first get back up from where you fell down, then go right to the next big room. Go all the way down to the bottom of the room and bomb the two different looking tiles. Now you're in a room where you got the Charge beam. Power Bomb the pipe looking thing at the bottom and you're set.

I can't decide which game to play. Help me, GAF.

1. "Asshole Thorton" playthrough of Alpha Protocol.

2. Pure melee playthrough of Fallout: New Vegas.

3. Pick up either MGS:R or Vanquish.

Has anyone ever played Pu-Li-Ru-La? Watched some vids and seems crazy as fuck, I don't even know what's going on most of the times, lol.

selling my 360 (dont really need 2, plus i use my brother's anyways) and i just wanted to know what stuff i needed to remove before selling it. Like how you need to deactivate a PS3/Vita console before selling it off. Is there something similar i need to do on the 360 account etc? Any help would be great thanks.
