I think different countries approach this differently... and different factors including political ones come into play.

For example where I come from, prostitution is "not legal", but it can be "licensed". No government representative or journalist will ever call it "legal". Instead they call it "licensed". Guess that they consider it a "necessay evil", allowing it to exist but controlled, and refuse to publicly condone it.

Supposedly this works slightly different for a corporate entity - so a porn company is considered legal if it adheres to all the legal conditions required of a registered company in that business.
 
My mouse cursor keeps randomly freezing and/or changing its sensitivity settings. When it freezes I notice it's cause the laser under the mouse will randomly shut off. It's a Logitech MX518 mouse. I've tried updating the drivers but that didn't do anything, is there a simple fix for this or do I have to buy a new mouse?

And if so can anyone recommend a reliable mouse manufacturer? This is my second Logitech mouse, after a few months the last ones left click button randomly wouldn't work and that's when I bought the MX518.

What's a good deoderant that lasts long (read: can keep B.O away for 7+ hours) that's over the counter? Do not reccomend me any anti-perspirants because I'm allergic to them (I got armpit cysts every time I used one, so no). Currently I'm using the NBA Right Guard deoderant (sp?) with Old Spice body spray, but it only lasts about 5 hours or so before the b.o starts kicking in then I have to reapply it. Forgot to mention: I feel embarassed in the gym because the b.o kicks in and then I try to stay away from people or try not to open my arms.

If so, that comes from Yakhoff Smirnoff .. a Russian comedian in the 80s. I'm not sure why the come back though.

It's something you'll have to set through your browser. Firefox has a "Block images from..." in the right-click menu, but that will block everything from that domain/subdomain.

Windows 7 question -

Every 10 - 15 minutes when I'm playing something on instant queue with windows explorer the computer stops and my screen goes black as if the screen saver was turned on, but it's not. I also tried turning my power settings to maximum (or whatever it's called) and nothing. It gets really frustrating. Helps me Sir Gaf.

And if it is something like a screensaver or power setting...how come it's not recognizing that the computer is playing something? Shouldn't my screensaver timer be at 0? Is there a setting for the computer to recognize it?
 
Next month two of my friends (males) and my girlfriend are going to a concert in Santa Cruz and we will be spending the night in a hotel there.

The room has two queen beds so naturally my girlfriend and myself will be on one of the beds. Now I guess the two guys don't want to sleep on the same bed so they wan't to get a roll away bed that will cost $20. So one will sleep on the queen bed and the other on the roll away. My question is when paying for the hotel room should my girlfriend and I have to pay towards that roll away bed.

I'm trying to watch an episode of Lost I d/led through iTunes and for some reasons videos run super slow and stuttery on my computer. Same thing happens with streaming video like Hulu even though my innernets are fast. I've tried updating all my shit but it hasn't made a diff. What the hell is causing this?

I can play some older games like Max Payne and Morrowind but aside from that and Firefox I don't use it for anything else.
 
Hey, looking for some help with this physics question.

Q. when plotting a graph of EMF Vs Time for a uniformly decreasing magnetic field, the resulting graph is a straight horizontal line, why?

In my head i have it as EMF is the change of flux over a period of time, and since the flux is partly determined by the magnetic field, if the field decreases so would the flux and hence the EMF should decrease?
so why is it that the situation is different if the field is uniformly reduced/increased?

Google hasn't help so I've turned to GAF

for reference the question is this.

A coil containing 500 turns of Cu wire is threaded by magnetic flux of 4.8x10^-4 wb. if the flux is UNIFORMLY reduced to zero 0.012 seconds
A) what is the magnitude of the EMF induced in the coil? ... +20V
B) sketch a graph to show how the EMF varies with time over the 0.012 secs
 
Don't remember any of the physics specifics, but that sounds like a calculus thing. If EMF is the change in flux over time, then it is the derivative of flux. If flux is decreasing at a uniform rate, then its derivative does not change over time: the derivative, EMF, plots as a horizontal line.
 
What are the best ways to permanently whiten a tooth? One of my front teeth is an off white color due to an accident I had when I was a kid. I got hit in the mouth with a golf ball when I was about 12. My braces are likely the only reason my tooth was not knocked out. When I was 22 I had to have a root canal on that tooth, and now several years later, it is off white with a bit of a gray tint to it in some lighting. I've heard something about veneers, are there any other good methods?

the tooth is dead, so the filler in the tooth that actually gets whitened when people use whitening strips, is gone. so your only option is for the dentist to inject something to make it match the color of your other teeth, though im not sure whether you can get that thing injected at any time other than while doing the root canal.

imo, this is the kinda question you're going to need to ask the person who will be performing the procedure, aka your dentist
