Whats the name of that move where this kid takes a watch from his dad that makes him speed up? At the beginning he thinks he stopped time but he's actually moving fast. Came out a 6 years ago, or so.

For beginner web development you won't need PHP yet, if you even decide to learn web scripting. You typically won't use C++ or Java for online applications nowadays. (Java is used sometimes.)

I have used Eclipse before, and it was rather good. Just stick to HTML for now, go through W3schools' HTML and CSS tutorials. This is how I learned the basics.

You....rock....Thanks.

Did gaf change is search profile to include "games", because it is now blocked at work?

We had quite a following, and a few members, who always checked and posted while at work, and now its not available :^/

I was just thinking about things like Red Dawn and Turning Point: Fall of Liberty. Do we actually keep any significant amount of firepower at home in the US? It seems like most or all of our heavy weaponry like tanks, fighters and carriers are constantly deployed overseas. Even if we have sufficient forces at home to repel such an invasion, could they actually be relocated where needed in any timely fashion over our crappy interstates?

OK gaf I got a really stupid question, or at least an odd one.

For some reason, randomly, when I try to visit facebook my web browser sends me to some random myspace users webpage. It's not just when I try to directly access facebook either but ANY website that connects to facebook in some way, such as gametrailers and imdb, it sends me to myspace. To add further insult to injury it does this on all of my computers/laptops that are connected to the internet in the house.

So my question is... why does this happen and how do I stop it from happening??

I've tried resetting the router to no avail and the only way it reverts back to normal is just to wait it out. This has been happening on and off for a couple of months now and it's getting pretty annoying. Any help?

Fling poo?
Speaking of poo, here is a quote from a book im currently reading:

"My dad on getting a dog: Who's going to take care of it? You?... Son, you came in the house yesterday with shit on your hands. Human shit. I don't know how that happened, but if someone has shit on their hands, its an indicator that maybe the whole responsibility thing isn't for them."

GAF is now blocked at work for a lot of people. Try neogaf.net instead of .com while at work. That works for some people.

Thanks :^)

Am I the only one reading this in a Hank Hill voice?

Will I be able to view other posters' post history when I become a full fledged GAF member?
That is just an element of searching, which is disabled for all users. The best you can do is use the Google custom search with their name.

My gfs PC is in rough shape so I told her I'd erase and install Windows XP SP2 for her. She has an original Microsoft XP SP2 but doesn't have the original OEM XP disc or the serial number. I've been using a Mac for 15+ years so I don't know if it's possible to get the key off the disc? If so then how?

Thanks.

Wasn't there a thread about meeting local gaf members? I can't remember the name of it, so google isn't much help. I think I posted in it awhile back, and I want to see if there are any locals :lol

Is there a GAF thread for "thing(s) I learned today"?

I always feel like I learn these little snippits everyday.

Today for example I learned that the reason they call it a Marathon is because some greek mesenger after the greek-persia war, ran from Maraton to Athens to deliver the news and died. This is really cool.

But isn't she still posting here? I'm pretty sure I saw a post from her yesterday.
I know she got de-modded and one of my friends told her did a "goodbye" somewhere, but he doesnt remember where.

i have used torrents for years but still don't really understand how they work. this one torrent i have has 9000ish seeds, yet i can only seemingly connect to about 4 at the most and have a max download of 5.0k a second (worse than dialup).

Hey would you guys be able to help me find the technical specs of these two TVs? Mostly looking for contrast ratio and response time. Not sure if I'm missing some reason why nowhere lists these but I can't seem to find the details. Anyway I'm looking at at the Samsung UA46C5000QF and the Sony Bravia Kdl46ex700.

I think she had a goodbye post in the gaygaf thread.
I just texted my friend, he said he saw it in the ausGAF thread, but she posted there alot too, so she probably did it in both

I enjoyed you guys' company, and I do believe one day we'll have equality. Never be ashamed of who you are (like I have). I'm proud of those of you that can freely express many things I just have the inability to. Maybe some people will finally crack the meaning of my IS NOT INTERESTED tag. Good luck with everything you guys.

I've asked a couple folks to keep you guys company, hopefully one of them will comply. I had a lot of fun blabbing with you guys, and thanks for making me feel welcome. You guys take care.

I guess i will ask here before i start a thread but I had a link to a website that was some program that would make your college loan specifically the govt direct loan payments very small I am paying about 80 a month but this service would drop it to like 12 dollars.

I got the link from GAF but I cant find the thread I got the link from.

edit:
did more googling of gaf and found it

why is it that when i double-click on things on my desktop, instead of opening the program it brings up the properties window? i have to right-click and open things.

this just started happening today. i also just recently took off the adapter on my usb mouse to make it connect via usb port, could this be the problem?

I remember going to a site where you can draw live with other people. They could also draw with you too or something. I don't remember the name of the site and I"m bored. Help GAF!!

I've been reading histories of 19th century literary periodicals, and there was one fairly famous occasion when an author, enraged by a review, beat the person he thought responsible 'near to death' with a riding crop.

I've never seen or held a riding crop, GAF. If anyone has, does this sound serious ? I mean, I assume it would be a pretty nasty god damned sensation to be hit with one, but would you choose it as a weapon to do damage ?

Sounds like BDSM.

What exactly is a 'scholar-administrator? I'm writing a paper on Japanese companies, and came across this sentence: '[...] that an unprincipled huckster who built a business did as much good for the world as a learned scholar-administrator.' If I wrote the paper in English this wouldn't be a problem, but since I'm writing in Swedish I have to translate it and I can't find a translation or description anywhere on teh webz. Help?

you could beat someone black and blue with it if you went crazy... they have enough to hurt bad though

near to death though? lol senesationalist writing seems more like it

Salazar said:
No, fairly authoritative history.

well perhaps it was a heavy riding crop, i dont see how you could break bones or cause heavy concussion with one though

which to me would seem like he got cut up and bruised badly, 'near to death' i imagine had a less literal meaning in the 18th century than it does now

What's the name of the phenomenon when you get that choppy playback while playing a 24 FPS material on a 60Hz display (when refresh causes 1 frame to be longer viewed then another one)?
